Apparently, Nigeria’s current sports minister, Solomon Dalung, has been dropping gems on social media universe long before you can imagine. He’s one of the cool kids and here are some of the times he slayed us with his posts on Twitter.
1. Once upon a time, he used to be a farmer.
2. That time he celebrated his birthday in the bush.
3. When he forgot how to spell ‘slippers’.
4. That time he crossed 7 rivers and seas in search of peace.
5. We don’t know who sent him message sha.
6. When he used style to show us his nice car.
7. When he was thinking with his sunshades on.
8. He even went to Sambisa forest in search of the missing Chibok girls.
9. When he was dropping punchlines as per, Dalung the Rapper (M.I please shift abeg).
10. When he was basically speaking in tongues. (Please someone should come and help us translate this one o!)
Magazine covers are usually symbolic and often portray a theme that gives an idea of what main article is about.
However, several magazine spreads within and outside Nigeria have been more controversial than anything else. We can never forgive Wizkid for this ridiculousness.
Sitting down with Fame Extra magazine, popular OAP and slay queen, Toke Makinwa, talked about life after the scandalous separation from her estranged husband, Maye Ayida.
As deep and touching as the whole interview was, we need to talk about this highly ridiculous picture which features a well-dressed Toke, surrounded by dishevelled children in a ghetto.
Please, what does her separation have to do with these children?
Just look at the child clutching at her clothes, is she supposed to be some ‘ghetto saviour’ or what?
We need an explanation as to why she was looking all white and bright in the midst of these disheveled children sha. Share your thoughts on this in the comments section.
For the first time in the history of the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), 8 Nollywood movies were showcased in the festival’s City to City programme.
This impressive feat not only proved that Nollywood is definitely on the way to greatness, also, international actors of African descent including Lupita N’yongo and David Oyelowo showed their support.
Speaking to an audience at the City to City: Lagos opening, an excited David Oyelowo was too happy to be in the midst of people who could properly pronounce his name without adding extra ‘phone’.
His speech was not only inspiring but the funniest we’ve seen in a while as he perfectly mimicked the typical Nigerian parent’s reaction to their child going into acting.
We hope to see a Nollywood on the Academy Award playing field soon, but in the meantime, you can watch David Oyelowo’s speech below:
The public holiday was not just a long ass weekend, but also a hive of really lit events which included the popular Socialympics.
Apparently, someone took this random picture of badass photographer, Anny Roberts, and the peng Brendalishus, but people with no chill on the internet have given it the most hilarious captions you can ever think of.
On any given day, you’ll find that University students discontinue their education for varying reasons. However, when a student voluntarily withdraws over something wrong he did in the past, it shows that the strangest things will never stop happening.
The management of University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) couldn’t be more shocked after receiving a letter sent by a student who voluntarily withdrew from the institution because he claimed he cheated during his WASSCE exams.
In the letter addressed to the Deputy Chancellor of Unilorin, the 300-level student of Sociology, Jephthah Abolarin, stated that he only passed his WASSCE through exam and he dud’t want to continur his education on a ‘shaky foundation’.
We know many of you did copy copy in school but we’re not saying anything sha! Can you drop out of school like Brother Jephthah did? Share your thoughts on this interesting gist in the comments section.
On September 7, the people from Apple decided to release their latest gadgets from the iPhone 7 series, the Apple Watch 2 and the incredible wireless Airpods.
What makes this news more delicious is that, the cheapest iPhone 7 costs roughly 300,000 in Naira.
1. People on Twitter kuku carried the matter on their heads, because who doesn’t want to chook mouth in such good news?
We like the iPhone sha and if anybody buys for us, we won’t do shakara, we’ll manage it like that jare. Share your thoughts on this wonderful phone in the comments section.
Few days into September 2016, Cross Rivers State governor, Ben Ayade, announced the state’s intention to float its own airline.
As expected, Nigerians couldn’t be any more happier about this development especially with the sudden closure of some airlines *coughs* Aero contractors *coughs*.
But you can imagine our shock when we found out the proposed name of the airline is ‘Cally Air’.
Na wa o! They couldn’t just make the effort to come up with a better name.
Although this perfectly describes how Nigerian airlines are currently run, we hope they get this one right.
We’re seriously judging whoever came up with this name sha. Let us know your thoughts on this in the comments section.
For those who have ever lost someone, the last moments shared are unforgettable and bring back a lot of memories and emotions. When Twitter user, @Toluderp decided to ask about last moments people shared with their late loved ones, the responses couldn’t be any more heartbreaking.
If you've ever lost someone, what was the last thing you heard that person say?
We were just passing through Twitter, doing our usual amebo work when gist of a Nigerian man’s marriage requirements went viral.
Oduneye Ridwan Folorunso, who was wife-hunting via his Facebook page, listed the qualities he wanted and even asked interested women to apply, talk about confidence.
According to him, he wants a wife that is still in control of her “virgin on touch”.
And the funniest part, he also wants an intelligent but idiotic woman.
We’re not lying, just look at the list.
Na wa o! Out of everything he listed, he only has 5 things to offer any woman he plans to marry.
This is a really confusing matter sha. What do you think of this man’s ‘special’ marriage requirements? Share your thoughts on this in the comments section.
2 years ago, Nigerian photographer, Ayo Akinwande, started shooting his photo series, Orekelewa, the first of his long-term project, ‘Women of Africa’.
In this series, Ayo captured these beautiful Nigerian grandmas with the aim of portraying their beauty, strength and values.
Check out more pictures from the series below:
Just look at her fleeking brows. Their makeup was done by Desmond Soso.
They were all styled by Adeniji Opeyemi and Seyi Kafi.
Jamming to music via Beats headphones will make anyone smile like this.
Just see how peng they look with their geles and heels.
Not every time form serious, sometimes pout for a selfie.

In the light of the terror attacks that have plagued France in 2016, the French government decided that banning a piece of clothing, the Burkini, is the most brilliant way to end terrorism in the country.
On August 23, some armed police officers in France went as far as making a Muslim woman take her clothes off which resembled a Burkini, while she was on the beach with her little son.
3. Them, immediately you start talking about yourself
How dare you stop talking about them?
4. How they look at you when you’re slaying
So much hate!
5. The only way they know to give you a compliment
They can’t see anything good.
6. This is basically how they describe your friendship with them
As per, it’s not that deep.
7. How they end every sentence now that they’ve hammered
As if God won’t do it for the rest of us.
8. Whenever you tell them to invite you to an event
Because they don’t want you to win at life.
9. How they wish you happy birthday every year
That’s if they remember sef.
10. How they react when you try to borrow something from them
As if you asked them to give you one kidney.
11. How they act when you stylishly ask them to return what you lent them
On top your own thing o!
12. Them, when you try to talk about your life problems
Just carry your problems to Jesus.
13. When you correct them for doing something wrong
Sorry is not in their dictionary.
14. The only thing they talk about all the time
The haters are kuku invisible.
15. You, when you realise they’re just a bad belle person
Carry your wahala and go abeg!

According to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria, The Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) is making plans to establish exam center in foreign countries to enable easy access for candidates who want to study in Nigeria.
JAMB’s Media and Information head, Mr Fabian Benjamin, explained that the Board also plans to ensure more candidates are able to write the UTME exams within and outside the country.
He stated that this step was taken so that candidates in the Diaspora who want to study in Nigeria shouldn’t have to go through the stress of travelling down to write an exam.
Although JAMB’s UTME exam is currently being conducted in countries such as Cameroun, Saudi Arabia and Ghana, they aim to spread their reach to countries such as the U.S and others.
We kuku have a few questions. Will the 180 cut-off mark also apply to these candidates?
Considering the history of Nigerian examination bodies, will the exams in such centres be properly conducted?

While some Nigerian musicians like Tiwa Savage and Wizkid are gradually taking over the world with their artistry, a certain D-List musician, Peeshaun from musical duo, Skuki, has decided that the next path in life for him is to write books.
That shouldn’t be a bad idea actually. People can decide to shelve their creativity for a while and show the world their intellectual side.
But when the said book is about the same old boring relationship advice for women, you can imagine how hard we rolled our eyes.
As if the ridiculous ‘Act Like A Woman, Think Like A Man’ ideology isn’t bad enough, Peeshaun’s book aims to teach women ‘how to make their man fall in love over and over again’.
He claims his book aims to dish quality relationship advice to single women aged 18-40 from a guy’s point of view.
Words are not enough to describe how ridiculous that is. But one thing needs to be said, women don’t need any more ‘think pieces’ on how to keep a man, sincerely, mind your business!
Instead, Peeshaun needs to mind his business and probably work on being the A-list musicians, Skuki have been trying to become all these years.
Something interesting happened one peaceful Owambe Saturday like that and we thought to bring the amebo to you, you’re welcome!
As we all know, the single life isn’t always fun. And that’s what made one Nigerian man slide into the DMs of a peng woman he met via Facebook.
After seizing the bae and finding true love, they decided the next step for them was to walk down the aisle. Not bad abi?
But on their wedding day, the unexpected happened!
The bride ran out of their wedding venue in Eket, Akwa Ibom after finding out her groom didn’t work in Oil and Gas as he claimed.
Unfortunately for her, she couldn’t run like Usain Bolt and people from the wedding caught up with her and dragged her to the wedding.
So she ended up going back to the church and marrying the guy o! THE END!
This bride was actually seen running from her wedding in Eket, but no-one knows what really happened sha.

The fact that black people are amazing in every aspect of life that exists isn’t news. During the ongoing Rio Olympics, several black athletes have slayed so hard, these hashtags come to mind: #BlackGirlMagic#BlackMagic#BlackIsMagic#BlackPeopleSlay!
1. Simone ‘Superhuman’ Biles
There are not enough words to explain why this amazing athlete has to top the list. She is the world’s most dominant gymnast and she’s so great she has a signature move nobody in the world has ever achieved named after her, The Biles.
Her performance during 10,000 metre race where she broke world and Olympic records has been described as the greatest athletic performance ever seen. She was the first athlete to put Africa on the map at the Rio Olympics when she won the gold medal for the race.
4. Wayde van Niekerk
Trained by his 74-year-old great grandmother, Wayde not only won South Africa’s first gold medal, but also broke a 17-year-old world record during the 400m men’s race. His ability to break a world record from the 8th lane was so amazing, Usain Bolt came all the way to congratulate him.
5. Jemima Jelagat Sumgong
Despite the fact that a strange man who was later arrested tried to disrupt the marathon race, Jemima still gunned for gold and won after completing the 40Km marathon race after 2 hours and 24 minutes.
In a moment he thought was the end of his Rio 2016 Olympic dream, Mo Farah tripped and fell during the 10,000 metre race. But rather than give up, this British athlete clawed his way from the bottom and still won the race, like a boss!
One of the cabin crew members of Etihad Airways, Alexander George, happened to be in Lagos for a few days in August and he had interesting things to say.
In a post on his now private Instagram page, he stated that he was in Lagos, an interesting destination that’s so dangerous, they can’t leave their hotel.
Really?
Nigerians angrily went into his Instagram page to drag him for making that kind of statement.
But is this type of ignorance really bliss?
Some Nigerians are already planning to boycott Etihad Airways because of the statement their staff made.
Getting escorted doesn’t always spell danger!
Maybe the people at Etihad need to give their staff some home training.
Instead of him to jejely stay in his hotel and face front, he’s doing unnecessary amebo.
It’s not like flight attendants can roam about a country during work, it’s not a vacation abeg!
Every country in the world has locations that are regarded as dangerous spots.
The fact that a country has dangerous spots doesn’t necessarily make the entire country unsafe. We’re in 2016, people need to stop being ignorant abeg!
That said, Nigerians need to acknowledge the problems going on in the country rather than being defensive whenever someone from outside points them out.
24-year-old Robel Kiros Habte, out of his love for swimming joined the Olympic team to represent his country, Ethiopia, at the Summer Olympics in Rio. Unfortunately for him, haters had a lot to say about his weight.
During the competition, Robel came 59th out of the 59 competitors and even got cut from the camera.
After this poor performance, he was badly body shamed for his 179 pound weight and was even given a horrible nickname, “Robel The Whale”.
Although reports say he was only able to join the team with the influence of his father, who is the president of the Ethiopian Swimming Federation, Robel has decided to not give up on swimming.
He explained that he wanted to do something different for his country for the first time. In his words, “My country is famous for runners. I wanted to be famous for being a swimmer”.
Speaking to Daily Mail about his current body size, he shared how he gained a lot of weight after surviving a car accident.
While these negative comments have put him off from contesting in the next Olympics, Habte has sworn to shut all the haters down by working hard and placing his name in other international swimming competitions.
In spite of his poor performance, he’s proud to be an Olympian and that should be the most important thing.
And although his entry into the Olympics may have been out of corruption and not merit, body shaming him will not change the fact that he was the 1st Ethiopian to swim at the Olympics.
We are in the era where blackness is celebrated across the world. People of colour are beginning to wear their culture proudly and standing tall against all forms of racial discrimination.
Also, the 1st black president of the U.S, Barack Obama, will be stepping down later in 2016 after 8 years in office. As expected, this has to be the most talked about topic of the year.
Chimamanda Adichie, being very vocal about political issues, spoke about Barack Obama’s election and his amazing wife, Michelle.
However, this doesn’t mean women who choose to not wear their natural hair are any less. It is not a battle about what type of hair is better.
For those who were reaching, it’ll be nice to not forget that she also said an afro should only be regarded as normal hair which is only right.
If a 3-year-old child, Blue Ivy, was getting backlash especially from black people for wearing her natural hair, what do you think would’ve happened if Michelle wore her natural hair?
I'm so tired of blue ivy's lil nappy hair. Beyonce needs to get her stylist on that. Or mamma Tina. Somebody. Anybody. Please! 🙏🙌😩😩

While addressing his congregation during a convention last year, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God, Reverend E.A Adeboye, dropped some really deep nuggets and we thought to share with you guys.
Apparently, people were arguing about cooking on Twitter.
And someone went to dig up this 1-year-old video just to prove his point.
According to him, men shouldn’t marry women who are lazy or can’t cook.
In his words, “Don’t marry a girl who cannot cook, she needs to know how to do chores and cook because you cannot afford to be eating out all the time”.
He also said, “Marry a prayer warrior! If a girl cannot pray for one hour, don’t marry her. Don’t marry a girl who is lazy”.
You can watch the full video below:
But we only came to give you this amebo sha. What do you think if Daddy G.O’s marriage advice? Express yourself in the comments section.
Since she became really popular, Kylie Jenner has been labelled for being astonishingly unoriginal. But we’re not one to give you gist without receipts.
For one, some people believe her newly acquired lips look exactly like the average black woman’s lips but we’re not judging her sha.
Remember that time she launched her lip kit collection? Well, guess what? The ingredients were alleged to be pretty similar to a $6 lipstick produced by ColourPop cosmetics.
And in the name of throwing shade at her boyfriend’s ex, she kept on jacking Blac Chyna’s style. But we unlooked, as per, fashion isn’t only for one person.
Just when the internet forgave her for her copy-copy ways, she launched her eye shadow collection, Kyshadow.
But she’s currently being dragged by her weave for stealing one Youtuber’s eye shadow palette.
This ban resulted in people carrying their generators to filling stations. Seriously, we’re not joking.
However, a Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Chief Malcolm Omirhobo, isn’t taking this ban lightly. He has filed a lawsuit against the Nigerian government, challenging this really stressful ban.
He said the fact that Nigerians don’t even have light at home is enough reason to overturn this ban.
In his opinion, instead of arresting people with Jerrycans, the Nigerian police ought to check the activities of Black Marketers and also people who engage in jungle justice.
Basically, the Nigerian government need to face their work and simply:
We hope something positive comes out of this lawsuit. Four words: Chief Malcom for President!
Sometime in July 2016, this video of a young Nigeria woman, Mayowa Ahmed, a sickle cell carrier, who is currently battling stage 4 ovarian cancer went viral. She was appealing to Nigerians to help save her life by donating towards the $100,000 needed for her treatment in Emory hospital, Atlanta.
Anyone who have the capacity to help, such is your friend. Let's #SaveMayowa Access Bank – 0038091966 Ahmed Mayowa https://t.co/HwbyHlnMZt
Amazingly, less than a week after the video came up, Nigerians donated generously to the GoFundMe account opened in her name and the $100,000 goal was completed.
Mayowa’s campaign was so touching, controversial Nollywood actress, Toyin Aimakhu paid her a visit and even tried to cheer her up.
This outrageous report made several Nigerians reach out to the family for explanation. And emails the family shared with representatives of some hospitals overseas were released.
They also shared Mayowa’s current medical status with Nigerians in a bid to clear their family’s name.
Her medical story shows how she became ill in 2015 and was misdiagnosed in LASUTH for almost one year. When her condition worsened, they contacted Emory Hospital in April 2016 and were asked to deposit the sum of $100,000.
According to the medical report, “Ahmed, Mayowa Shukura has been a known healthy HBSS patient from her early years and because we detected it early…. but after graduation she seemed to have more frequent cases of hospital visits with Ulcer being the diagnosis most times, we began to manage Ulcer in LASUTH. By July 2015, the ulcer as it was diagnosed, became worse as it had progressed from pangs to vomiting and stooling blood so frequently. At this point, our confident in LASUTH was not firm anymore because it just wasnt working and we were not getting enough care so we tried another place- Isolo General Hospital as we knew a Management Doctor there. It was fine for a few days but then we went back to status quo.”
As if the rumours weren’t enough trauma, Aramide Kasumu and Toyin Aimakhu contacted the police and Mayowa’s brothers were arrested.
They both claimed Mayowa’s brothers refused to let them see Mayowa on July 27 and the family received more than the $100,000 funds they asked for. But they forgot to add how Nigerians continued to donate even after they announced they had reached their goal.
Following these claims, Mayowa’s family announced how plans to take Mayowa to the U.S changed.
Speaking via Bellanaija’s comment section, they explained how Mayowa needs to be stabilized in Dubai because of her critical health condition before further travel plans can be made.
In this video, Mayowa’s cousin, Habeeb, released this statement maintaining all their family did was just to keep Mayowa alive.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYTilm_XIqg
Although the account dedicated to raising funds for Mayowa has been blocked, Habeeb called out to competent legal trustees to help them handle the funds just to convince Nigerians of the sincerity of their actions.
Mayowa’s sister also denied all the allegations and shared how Mayowa is deeply saddened by the bad news circulating all over social media.
We were just minding our business on Twitter when melanin-popping Nigerian actress, Beverly Naya, came to share her experience at a restaurant in Lagos.
One day, as a pinging baby girl, she went to eat at one Lebanese-owned restaurant. Who no like better thing abeg?
To her surprise, the black waiters in the restaurant only served black customers while the Lebanese man attended to the the white woman.
Instead of shouting, she jejely asked the Lebanese man to come and serve her, as per she’s not eating their food for free.
Na wa o!
There shouldn’t be any form of segregation especially on our own soil.
