  • How to Pass Off as a Football Fan

We don’t know what your reasons are, but if you’re reading this, you want to impress someone with your football knowledge.

There’s no judgement here. We understand the struggle. Here’s how to disguise if football just isn’t your thing.

Get familiar with the different games

You don’t want to be the one asking, “Is this a World Cup qualifier game?” when the whole world and your grandmother know it’s the FIFA World Cup final game.

    Know the slangs

Then make sure to sprinkle them into your conversations.

Your boss: “How was your weekend?”

You: “I watched the top goals by my Idolo. He’s the GOAT!”

    Choose a club

Just pick any club that has a reasonably good reputation and post about them once in a while. For international tournaments like the World Cup, just stick to Nigeria until they disgrace you.

    Get a jersey

You don’t even need to get an original one. Visit any bend-down-select place, pick one jersey, wash it and wear it everywhere.

    Twitter is your friend

There’ll always be hot takes on the TL whenever a match occurs. Pick one that everyone agrees with, retweet and then post it on your WhatsApp status.

Whatever you do, avoid viewing centres

Unless you want to be exposed as the fraud you are, avoid any gathering of hard-core football fans. You’ll be disgraced.

Participate in Coca-Cola’s Believe and Win Promo so you can win a trip to the 2022 FIFA World Cup

No one can doubt your fanship when you post your Qatar pictures.

Coca-Cola is an official partner of the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup and has launched a consumer-reward campaign for football fans.

Just buy any white-capped Coca-Cola product, check under the cap for the code, and dial *8014*1*CODE# to participate for free. Some lucky consumers will even witness the World Cup live in Qatar.

  • 5 Reasons Why Jollof Is Nobody’s Mate

We can say without a doubt that there’s no one who hates Jollof. However in the event that we’re wrong and there’s a sect somewhere dedicated to besmirching Jollof, it’s because they have bad vibes. We’re sending them love & light, and we hope they find the healing they so desperately need. Because what is there to hate about Jollof — a food that is nobody’s mate? If you’re among those who doubt that Jollof is indeed nobody’s mate, here are five reasons why you’re wrong.

    1) It unites a continent.

Citizens in different African countries playfully insult and banter with each other over different things. But the one thing we all can agree on, the one thing that almost every African country has its version of is Jollof. Wherever you go on the continent, you can confidently walk into a restaurant and order Jollof, knowing that it won’t be too different from the one you’re used to.

    2) It has caused a continental war.

The downside of almost every African country having its own version of Jollof is the lighthearted competition between these countries about whose Jollof is the best. This perpetual contest has led to many online and real-life cooking wars. If Helen of Troy was a type of food, she would be Jollof. How many of your fave foods have started wars by just existing? None. That’s a quality reserved for only legendary foods.

    3) It is one of the few foods that comes in many forms.

From peppery and smokey to native and concoction, there is a version of Jollof that fits any taste palette and budget. Are you feeling like a big man today? Make native Jollof full of many delicious obstacles like diced ponmo, liver, beef, etc. If you wake up to find out that your wallet is echoing, then go for concoction Jollof. We stan a considerate meal.

    4) It’s the official Nigerianfood of celebration.

The day Nigerians will host a party without Jollof is the day pigs will sprout wings and fly. No matter what gathering it is (birthday, wedding, funeral, etc), Jollof must be present, flanked with a plethora of side dishes. This brings us to our last point.

    5) Jollof goes with everything.

Even though Jollof stands strong on its own, it can be served with many side dishes. Moimoi, plantains, coleslaw, vegetables, and eggs are just some of the sides that can be added to heighten what we like to call the Jollof experience. That being said, don’t limit your sides to this or any other list. You can eat Jollof with anything you want. It all comes down to whatever floats your boat.

Do you know what goes best with Jollof, though?

    A chilled Coca-Cola.

    Get into it.

  • We Ranked Cola Drinks From Worst To Best

So, after doing a taste fest of cola drinks available in Nigeria, I decided to do a ranking of them all. Here’s my result:

    5. Big Cola

In terms of size, this one should rank higher. But taste-wise, it doesn’t exactly cut the bill. The cola drinks were almost impossible to differentiate because of their taste, but this one stood out and not exactly in a good way. It wasn’t sweet enough for me. That’s an easy way to say it.

    4. Bigi Cola

So I enjoyed this. More than I was expecting to, honestly. Because when it was first released, it was way too sugary. Now, the sugar seems to have been regulated and it didn’t leave any aftertaste in my mouth. So, it’s number 4 for me.

    3. RC Cola

This is a new product, and I think it tastes good enough. If it remains consistent, it can go head to head with the other cola drinks in the market. But brands have that problem of reducing quality when they get good customers, so… Let’s hope these don’t fall. I hope to keep drinking it.

    2. Coca Cola

You people are probably going to demand my head, but see, Coca Cola comes second for me. It tastes great taste, sure, and it is one of the best in the market, but I will always have a number one cola drink. And guess what that drink is?

    1. Pepsi

This is my go-to drink in traffic, the first I will consider before anything else. The taste is right by me, and I don’t feel bloated after drinking it. So, Pepsi for the win. I know a lot of people feel the same way about this. Tell me I’m right.

  • This One Is For Everyone Who Is Addicted To Soft Drinks

Things are happening in this our Nigeria

It appears that the Nigerian Bottling Company (manufacturers of Fanta, Sprite and Coca-cola in Nigeria) have been doing us plenty wayo

Apparently locally produced Sprite and Fanta are actually poisonous when taken with Vitamin C

And the soft drinks contain dangerous levels of benzoic acid and sunset additives

One Mr Fijabi attempted to ship large quantities of soft Fanta and Sprite to the United Kingdom in 2007, but they were declared unfit for consumption by health authorities in the Department of Environment and Economic Directorate because of a high level of cancer-causing substances. The goods were destroyed and Mr Fijabi sued NBC  for damages in 2008.

But NBC says their product is fit for ‘local consumption’

So we should be ingesting poison because we are not Oyinbo?

In a court ruling on Monday,13th March, a Federal High Court Judge said the soft drinks should be fit for consumption by anyone irrespective of race or creed. She also ruled that:

That NAFDAC shall forthwith mandate Nigeria bottling company to, within 90 days hereof, include on all the bottles of Fanta and Sprite soft drinks manufactured by the company, a written warning that the content of the said bottles of Fanta and Sprite soft drinks cannot be taken with Vitamin C as same becomes poisonous if taken with Vitamin C.Justice Adedayo Oyebanji

People are asking why the coloring is so different

What of people that can’t use drugs without adding one bottle of Fanta?

Are we not finished like this?

As for NAFDAC, we have one thing to say to you

Stop selling our souls to the devil!
