  • When Pounded Yam And Egusi Cause The Biggest Fight On The Internet

When Pounded Yam And Egusi Cause The Biggest Fight On The Internet
There are over 7 billion people on earth today with obviously diverse cultures and ways of life. But why should food cause a huge fight  between people of different nationalities?

It all started when Love & Hip-Hop Star, Tammy Rivera shared a picture of a plate of Pounded Yam and Egusi on her Instagram.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/BD2K6LZTUUT/?taken-by=charliesangelll

Those who found it disgusting commented saying the egusi looked really nasty.

And Nigerians brought the rage of their ancestors (and fuel queues), calling them slaves for daring to bash their beloved Egusi soup.

And then it became a full blown war between Nigerians and anybody that thought Egusi looked gross.

Some Nigerians bashed other people’s foods.

And people’s education and English speaking skills were questioned.

When did weaves and make up have anything to do with Egusi soup?

And while this messy fight was going on, Tammy explained to a fan who really wanted to know how she fell in love with Egusi.

Why are they cursing themselves on another person’s Instagram page over food?

When people that have to queue all night for fuel are calling people with constant supply of electricity slaves.

Not even all Nigerians like Egusi soup but Nigerians still went in to fight like…

When you try to ignorantly bash a Nigerian food but Nigerians came for you like..

Not all foods will be appealing to everybody, we all have our different preferences. However, people should learn about other cultures before commenting or simply just unlook!

A Nigerian Girl Has Been Offered Admission Into All 8 Ivy League Schools
Augusta Uwamanzu-Nna has shown that Nigerians will continue to excel at home or even abroad. She was accepted into all 8 Ivy League universities in America.

The 17 year old senior of Elmont High School, Long Island, New York will have taken 13 advanced courses when she graduates.

The Ivy League schools include: Harvard University, Yale University, Princeton University, Dartmouth College, Brown University, Cornell University, University of Pennsylvania and Columbia University. She was also offered admission by 4 other universities: John Hopkins University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

She credits her accomplishments to her supportive parents who made sure she appreciated the importance of education and the dedicated teachers of Elmont High School.

She believes her resilience and hard-work also helped her achieve some of her goals. Although she wasn’t born in Nigeria, her visits to the country have inspired her to be of positive impact to Nigeria.

Although she hasn’t decided on a school, Augusta wants to study a science related course and is very interested in research.

The 17 year old upon discovering her school lacked the hi-tech equipment required for her research, went on to apply for an internship in Columbia University so she could continue.

However, she isn’t the first African to achieve this feat.

Harold Ekeh and Victor Agbafe from Nigeria, Kwasi Enin from Ghana and also Somalia’s Munira Khalif were accepted into all 8 Ivy League schools in 2015.
  • 12 Lessons All Nigerians Can Learn From Blac Chyna And Rob Kardashian

12 Lessons All Nigerians Can Learn From Blac Chyna And Rob Kardashian

Blac Chyna is the greatest petty goals of all time. She was dating and had a baby with 26 year old American rapper, Tyga, who dumped her for 18 year old Kylie Jenner.

Kylie Jenner was still underaged (17 years old) when she first started dating Tyga.

She was BFFs with Kim Kardashian until Tyga began dating Kylie.

    And Kim didn’t say pim!

As a sharp babe, Blac Chyna sipped her tea and went on to date Kim and Kylie’s brother, Rob Kardashian.

And after 4 months of dating, the couple recently got engaged. If they ever have children, she will be the only woman to continue the Kardashian bloodline. And the only black Kardashian as much as Kylie tries. LOL Here are 13 ways to be petty, Blac Chyna style:

    1. If someone snatches your bae, marry their sibling, God no go vex.

    2. If your boyfriend breaks up with you, just go and marry his brother.

    3. When the pastor preaches against you in church, don’t put money in the offering box.

    4. When someone in church says they know why you’re single and it’s because you won’t submit to a man, and submission is of God. Don’t worry, just steal their own boo.

    5. When someone keeps calling you fat, don’t even get mad. Just steal all their food and eat everything of course.

    6. Become best friends with your ex’s new bae because you are petty like that.

    7. When someone starts preaching in the Danfo, plug your headphones and start singing Princess Vitarah’s “Naija Pussy” really loud.

    8. When your boss thinks they’re the new Patience Ozokwor, use the office internet to download torrent files of all the seasonal movies of the past, present and future.

    9. When someone begs for “small Jollof rice”, count 10 grains of rice and give it to them. They kuku asked for small rice.

    10. When someone throws shade at you on Twitter, send SubDeliveryMan receipts about them.

    11. If someone refuses to borrow you something you asked them for, steal it. Since they want to act childish.

    12. When your ex gets dumped by the person they left you for, throw a party. Oh and invite the new ex to the party.

Now go forth and be petty Blac Chyna style. LOL
  • This Ghanaian Ad Is The Funniest But Coolest Condom Ad You’ve Ever Seen

This Ghanaian Ad Is The Funniest But Coolest Condom Ad You’ve Ever Seen
Many of us have heard of the several Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) that exist and ways to prevent them.

Ghanaian condom brand, Fiesta Condoms put out a hilarious but educating animated series about the advantages of using condoms on their Youtube channel.

It is not a surpsrise that Fiesta Condoms are a trademark of DKT International, the non-profit organization that promotes family planning and HIV prevention through social marketing.

They kicked things off on their Youtube channel with this funny skit about a couple that would rather pray away STIs and infections rather than use condoms.

Then, this funny ad tells the story of a hideous STI that terrorizes couples in the land giving them infections. The Superheroes, Fiesta condoms come to the rescue and save the day.

Check out the full video here.

You can also watch other ads on their channel, Fiesta Condoms Gh.
  • A Nigerian Student In The UK Found Racist Insults Written On Her Food

A Nigerian Student In The UK Found Racist Insults Written On Her Food
Picture this, after a long day at work or school, you get home really tired and open your fridge to get small chow. To your dismay, someone wrote hateful words all over your food.

This happened to 19 year old biomedical student at Warwick Univeristy, Faramade Ifaturoti, on April 5 when she found racist slur written on her bananas.

Faramade tweeted her disgust, sharing a picture of the bananas which had “Monkey”and “Nigga” boldly written on them. A picture of Donald Trump was also found on her fridge.

She was shocked to have been directly targeted and promptly tweeted at the University accomodation’s Twitter account.

She said “Just entered the kitchen and look at what one of my flatmates has done. I am extremely disgusted @WarwickAccomm. I’m actually fuming! Like what?In 2016? People still behave like this?!”.

The school’s Twitter account responded and has vowed to look into the racist attack.

The story spread and was quickly covered by several news publications, including BBC.

However, this attack has sparked an outrage amongst students of the university and the black community on Twitter in general.

    https://twitter.com/BlasianOverlord/status/717395055389052928
Because, all people want is to get an education in peace without getting attacked or prejudiced.

It seems racism is not new at Warwick University.

And has not received this much media coverage.

And Faramade isn’t the first person to be attacked.

    This happened in 2015.

Will the school look into the issue as promised?

Because, the police at Warwickshire had not been contacted by the school authorities as at 6pm on April 5.

Why are news publications refusing to outrightly call it a racist attack?

    https://twitter.com/RecklessRai/status/717418349299384320
Racism is spelled without quotes in the dictionary last time we checked.

Why should a different spelling of an obviously racist word be regarded as less offensive?

    https://twitter.com/MONTMAN9500/status/717410937104240640
This brings up the argument that “Nigga” and “Nigger” mean the same thing. As much as rappers would like you to think otherwise.

Why was the Donald Trump picture placed on her fridge?

Could it be that the culprit sees Donald Trump as some sort of racist icon?

    Will justice be served?

    https://twitter.com/OmoBritiko_/status/717383879787732992?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw
Will the person(s) involved be expelled from the University?

As expected, some people believe Faramade faked the attack to make money off the outrage.

Some even think she shouldn’t have tweeted the pictures.

The solidarity of Warwick University students for Faramade is admirable. However, the University management should ensure a crackdown on racism to preserve its integrity.

Have you ever wondered why there are no superheroes in Nigeria? With no fuel, no light, and the pressure to marry,  how will they succeed? Here are 20 reasons superheroes cannot survive in Nigeria:

    1. Batman may get stranded.

    2. No light to charge Iron man’s suit too.

    https://twitter.com/Punthief/status/717294668313182208

    3. Nigerian’s will have many problems with Wonder Woman.

    4. And will probably shame her for being a female superhero.

    5. And call her Ashawo.

    6. Thor’s hammer would’ve gone missing.

    7. Because the only Nigerians that can fly are witches and wizards…

    9. They wouldn’t have capes because Nigerian tailors are just disappointing.

    10. Lagos traffic won’t let Batman be great.

    11. Who wants to wear cape in this heat?

    https://twitter.com/Tumiwiththewave/status/717289393107693568

    12. Nigerians can even call them oversabi people.

    13. Batman will probably be too busy fighting his uncles over his father’s property.

    14. The Incredible Hulk would’ve faced wahala with this mum.

  • Senators In Nasarawa Left All Chill In Their Houses And Fought Dirty

Senators In Nasarawa Left All Chill In Their Houses And Fought Dirty
There are several ways of handling issues in Nigeria which hardly ever includes keeping calm.

Nigerian senators usually solve issues by either making serious banter…

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xv0W5aQhqMc
Because Nigerian women’s lives don’t matter.

Or fight things out, street style.

Because decorum is too much stress.

On April 4, Nasarawa state lawmakers left trash for LAWMA.

And fought at the state House of Assembly.

Apparently, Governor Al-Makura’s appointment of 11 new council chairmen was what caused the wahala.

Some of the senators opposed the Governor’s motion and accused those in support of receiving 50 million Naira bribe from him.

The newly appointed council chairmen were supposed to be succeeding the former council leaders whose appointments ended on March 24.

These senators disagreed because they thought the appointments were illegal.

    Na wa oh!

We didn’t vote them for this sha.

When those in charge of making the laws that guide the country are actually lawless.

    What a shame!

Watch full details of the fight here:

Perhaps, if the passion and anger of this fight is channelled into the Agatu crisis plaguing Nasarawa state, the problem could be solved quicker than imagined.

A Pastor Went To Heaven And Wants To Share His Souvenir Pictures For 68k
After going through fuel scarcity, heat, permanent leader syndrome and many other African problems, we all eventually want to make heaven.

A South African pastor has been making trips between heaven and earth.

And he was kind enough to take heavenly pictures to show mere mortals like us.

But all you sinners can’t just view such holy pictures free of charge…

Propher Mboro is charging 5,000 Rand, approximately 68,000 Naira for those who want to know what heaven looks like.

Although haters are trolling him on Twitter.

    https://twitter.com/Just_Lungelo/status/715273636584800261

Because even Jesus has not accomplished this feat.

Maybe only Samsung Galaxy S5 phones work in heaven.

He sha took a selfie with the serpent of Eden.

And probably followed the ladder to heaven.

He doesn’t care, he just wants people to stop sending him nudes.

But really, who heaven selfies epp?

Will they buy someone a seat in the kingdom of heaven?

If not, let us all meet at the feet of Jesus abeg!

  • Is This Picture Racist?

    Is This Picture Racist?
Racism is very much alive especially in the movie and fashion industries (word to the Oscars).

Although American clothing brand, Gap tried to address diversity with this ad in 2014.

And also preach girl power in this campaign that features the only all-children humanitarian circus troup in the world, Le Petit Cirque.

People on Twitter still think this particular picture is racist.

    https://twitter.com/soulzilla/status/716374318658285577

And called Gap out for using the little black girl as an armrest.

    https://twitter.com/ASHA7777/status/716370762349682688

They think the brand is being passively racist.

They wanted to know why the ad featured only one black girl.

    https://twitter.com/KALIUCHIS/status/716664010263769090

Is the “arm rest” pose really sending any message in particular to anybody?

How come this picture from Gap kids didn’t spark any outrage?

    https://twitter.com/MatthewACherry/status/716753585552302080

If the black girl was portrayed as the ballerina, people may even say they made her twerk.

Can’t a child rest on another’s head in a playful capmpaign for children?

Must there be a racial tag to everything these days?

Na wa oh! Somebody cannot play with you people again.

However necessary and highly important the fight against racism is, misdirected outrage and anger will not assist in achieving equality.

When Doing Amebo Caused An Epic Fight

    Over the weekend, this happened…

Yes an epic, but dirty smelly fight.

No not at Oshodi, but between Linda Ikeji and Wizkid…AGAIN!

This fight proved to us all that doing amebo can get you into a little bit of trouble.

But when amebo is what you do for money like Linda.

Some people shouldn’t get upset when you say things like this about them.

According to Linda, Wizkid was served a quit notice in his Lekki home.

And instead of saying “Aunty Linda, why you always lying”, Wizkid took to his Instagram and cussed her out.

When people call women “Old whore”, “Smelly P*ssy” and accuse them of sleeping around.

Sorry oh, keeper and finisher of fresh bodies. Anyway smelly body parts never added or subtracted money from anyone’s bank account.

When the best insult you can hand to a woman is her being unmarried.

    Keep shut, Monsiuer Misogynoir!

When unmarried men with several children call other women unmarried.

    Are you even joking?

When he could’ve just called one of her designer bags or shoes fake.

So she would lose her mind and properly advertise her bag on Instagram.

Instead, we had to bear the 700 word essay from Linda’s book of self righteousness, Chapter 1.

    Who dignity don epp?

And they went clapback, for clapback.

    Sigh!

Until one of them got tired.

The Rise And Fall Of SubDeliveryMan
In the beginning, there was a Twitter account (now deactivated) dedicated to the spread of slander and mostly hateful subliminal messages.

Nigerians on Twitter feared this account and everyone tried to tread really carefully.

I mean, you could just spit and all the receipts of your life would be spread like a map all over Nigerian Twitter.

People sent in anonymous hateful messages and even receipts of their “friends” for him to share with the Twitterverse.

Receipts: (Definition)  Evidence in form of tweets, DMs, recorded phone conversations or any other information that can be used to verify/refute slander.

Spectators cheered on, while friendships and reputations were ruined with the “keep me anon” messages.

Others secretly prayed for the destruction of this account of terror.

And in the wee hours of March 30, while green-white-green Twitter slept…

  • Hey Ladies! Whoopi Goldberg Has A New Weed Line For Period Pain!

Hey Ladies! Whoopi Goldberg Has A New Weed Line For Period Pain!
Women are trying oh. Apart from loosing blood monthly, most of us have to deal with period cramps!
Really terrible ones that can be so bad that some of us actually pass out from the pain  have to be admitted into the hospital.

We’ve tried everything from taking hot drinks to pain killers to visiting the hospital for injections to drinking Yoyo bitters or ogogoro or dry gin.

But now, there’s something else that might just do the trick.

Legendary American actress, Whoopi Goldberg, has a cure for menstrual pain. Medical Marijuana!

The business which is based in San Francisco in the U.S of A is called Whoopi and Maya and is founded by the veteran actress and Maya Elisabeth, the founder of Om Edibles, a company that’s been treating marijuana as a superfood since 2008.

The Whoopi & Maya line will be in four forms.

    • A raw sipping chocolate infused with either CBD* or THC*, which can be mixed in liquids (such as warm milk) or eaten.
    • THC-infused tincture.
    • A THC-infused bath soak described as “profoundly relaxing.”
    • A topical rub.
THC means “tetrahydrocannabinol” and CBD means “cannabidiol”.

Whoopi hopes her products will provide “an alternative for relieving the pain and discomfort associated with menstruation.”

The weed line was inspired by her experience from a lifetime of difficult periods and cannabis literally being the only thing that gave her relief.

According to Whoopi this line will allow women to control the pain and still go about their business.

She says that, “Smoking a joint is fine, but most people can’t smoke a joint and go to work. This, you can put it in your purse. You can put the rub on your lower stomach and lower back at work, and then when you get home you can get in the tub for a soak or make tea, and it allows you to continue to work throughout the day.
The products will be available in U.S from April in select dispensaries.

We can’t wait for this product to be available in Nigeria. If not, it’s online shopping to the rescue!

  • Black Girl Attacks White Guy For Having Dreadlocks!

Black Girl Attacks White Guy For Having Dreadlocks!
    Cultural appropriation.
Definition: The use of elements of one culture by members of a different culture (Wikipedia).
White people have been known to do stuff generally associated with Black people.

    Like Kim Kardashian’s cornrows.

    Or Iggy Azalea’s rap style.

Or Rachel Dolezal pretending to be Black.

Cultural appropriation is a problem not just because White people do a Black hairstyle, but because when they do it, it is considered new or trendy. It erases Black people as if they don’t matter.

Black people have always spoken against it. If White people want to borrow some peculiarities from Black culture, they should be willing to embrace everything else.

But this girl took it to another level. She physically came after a White guy at her university, because he had dreadlocks.

In a video that has since gone viral, the girl and her friend are seen confronting the young man. She asked the guy why he had dreads and was appropriating her culture.

As much as she’s standing up for an important issue, she rather went about it the wrong way.

Violence never settles anything. And this is bullying!

Also we have some important questions.

    Do Black people own dreads?

Do Black people not use Filipino, Malaysian, Indian, European and Brazilian hair?

Do they not dye their hair various colours?

    Watch the video.

This topic about cultural appropriation will not end anytime soon. Its history goes back to slavery. But we need to be aware of what is appropriation and what isn’t.

Please, What Are These Ugandan Security Officers Searching For?!
It seems like we have it good here in Nigeria when it comes to random body searches.

A Twitter user shared these pictures of Ugandan officers conducting an over-thorough body search, before people could enter the Mandela National Stadium for the match between Uganda Cranes and Burkina Faso.

    https://twitter.com/pyepar/status/714839139926089728

Please what are they searching for?!

And they were doing it with such dedication too.

Are they trying to find something where the sun doesn’t shine!

Check out the lady smiling and people around find nothing wrong with this.

Of course the people of Twitter didn’t keep quiet.

Some wondered why the ladies were being body checked by male officers.

@pyepar smh why are they being frisked by male cops and not female ones?

    — Yummy Mummy (@AishaWanjiku_) March 29, 2016

But it turns out the ladies were actually being frisked by women.

@FauzKhalid @pyepar Lol..if you look closely they’re female soldiers actually. There are 2 females doing the frisking and a dude on the left.

    — Anno™ (@iAnnoGH) March 30, 2016

Some were not okay with it.

@pyepar absolutely not OK!! It’s so wrong!! pic.twitter.com/MCV7eVrZTy

    — Femme actuelle (@zippoglisia) March 29, 2016

    Some found it hilarious.

@pyepar LOL that’s some bomb searching

    — Kwuks (@BaDAsS_DriZzy) March 29, 2016

Some commented on the chick in the second picture.

@pyepar the chick in the second picture has that “I know, it’s lit right?” face on ?

    — Mr.Ranger (@sforsheriff) March 29, 2016

Some commented on how it wouldn’t be acceptable in their country.

@pyepar guys r Uganda women this naive, I don’t think a security guard can do this in Kenya N get away with it

    — Fredrick odwar (@odifred82) March 29, 2016

Some wondered if their fingers were metal detectors.

@pyepar Really, Ugandan police need to upgrade, do they have bomb detectors in their phalanges?

    — Victoria Odipo (@vickyodipo) March 29, 2016

These Ugandan security officers really know how to conduct a thorough body search oh.

Nigerian Super Eagles Crashed Out Of AFCON Qualifiers And Twitter Is Outraged
The Nigerian Super Eagles will not participate in the 2017 AFCON tournament after their failure to qualify for the games.

Although they had several shots at qualifying, their first leg match against Egypt which resulted in a draw lowered their chances.

To add salt to injury, Chad dropped out of the game stating financial reasons and the Eagles were left with one chance: Win or Get Lost!

The Eagles faced the Egyptian Pharaohs for the second time on March 29. Unfortunately for them, the Egyptian Pharaohs came hard this time, scored the only game of the match and earned a 5 point lead.

When you realise the Nigerian Super Eagles will be missing the AFCON tournament for the second time.

  • When Having A Mixed Race Child Raises An Uncomfortable Question

When Having A Mixed Race Child Raises An Uncomfortable Question
Sure, the world may be changing and times moving fast. Cultures that were snubbed in the past are slowly becoming recognised and accepted.  However, a hidden prejudice towards Africans (black people generally) still exists today, whether we like it or not.

This was shown by the airport security at the Duesseldorf airport.

Belgium-based politician and activist, Assanta Kanko, who is originally from Burkina Faso was embarrassed when the airport security insisted on questioning her mixed race daughter.

The politician who is married to a Belgian man took to Twitter to share her ordeal.

According to her, after presenting all necessary documents with fingerprints, the security man asked her 8 year old daughter, “Is this really your mama?”.

Apparently, this is not a new thing. Popular Nigerian writer, Chika Unigwe sympathised with her and shared her own experience.

It has also happened in Greece.

    https://twitter.com/mavroula_/status/714485685130924033

Some people see the questioning as nothing…

But a security check against kidnap and abduction.

@Assita_Kanko you do realize they ask most kids that to make sure they aren’t being kidnapped.. stop making a problem out of nothing..

    — Aaron Thomas (@aaron_1117) March 28, 2016

But white privilege is a thing whether we admit or ignore it.

And little children should not be put through such questioning, especially after necessary documents have been presented.

@MoniqueAdriaan1 if you receive all the evidence you don’t ask such a violent question to a child. Or you find a smart way to investigate

    — Assita KANKO (@Assita_Kanko) March 28, 2016

Agreed, kidnapping and abduction of children is a global problem. However, smarter and less embarrassing checks should be devised because there are many mixed race children in the world.

  • Femi Adesina Suggested A “Solution” To Nigeria’s Poor Electricity Supply And Nigerians Hate Him For It

Femi Adesina Suggested A “Solution” To Nigeria’s Poor Electricity Supply And Nigerians Hate Him For It
A large percentage of Nigerians reading this right now are currently battling fuel scarcity and erratic supply of electricity.

When NEPA refuses to bring the light and fuel for generator is also scarce.

In a dire situation as this, you’d think Nigerian leaders would try and calm the already angry and impatient Nigerians.

However, President Buhari’s media aide during an interview with Channels Television dropped his very ‘wise’ solution to Nigeria’s electricity problems.

He claimed that petroleum pipeline vandals were responsible for the poor supply of electricity.

He went on to shock Nigerians with this statement.

    https://twitter.com/Seyi__/status/714384703793590272
“… So if some people are crying that they are in darkness, they should go and hold those that vandalized the pipelines, that’s it!”

When there’s no fuel and light but your government still wants you to fight some people.

    Will Nigerians stand for this?

    https://twitter.com/XANTAPLUS/status/714717304550998016?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

They certainly do not deserve such betrayal.

Should such statements be made by a Special Adviser to the President?

    https://twitter.com/_Enrikay/status/714713956888215554?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

How much more drama will Nigerians go through in the hands of government officials?

He should kuku give us all guns.

    No wonder!

Perhaps the misyarning will stop if the President considers this idea.

  • Abike Dabiri Shut Down Someone On Twitter And Nigerians Came For Her!

Abike Dabiri Shut Down Someone On Twitter And Nigerians Came For Her!
Abike Dabiri, the Senior Adviser to President Buhari on Foreign Relations and Diaspora, came under fire for making this statement on Twitter.
This is the first tweet that most people saw. Looking at this alone, it’s not surprising that she was attacked. But let’s back track a bit. Was she wrong to say this or is this a case of her statement being taking out of context? Let us go back to the genesis of the whole matter.

Remember the Nigerian woman who became the first African ever to be an Inspector in the New York Police Department?

Funmilayo Obe set a record and made Nigerians proud.

Well, it turns out that Abike Dabiri paid her a courtesy visit while in the U.S.

Dabiri praised Inspector Obe for being worthy of emulation.

She got this reply. A Nigerian said that the country will suffer from brain drain if things continue the way they are.

@abikedabiri @NYPD28Pct In no time, Nigeria will lose her best brains and hands to other country and will be left with nothing! Take note

    — ‘Niyi OGUNKOYA (@niyiogunkoya) March 28, 2016

Dabiri then engaged the young man in a conversation.

    And he answered.

@abikedabiri Ma’am, I am sure you don’t want to persuade them to come home! As @MBuhari has not got solution to the problem at home…

    — ‘Niyi OGUNKOYA (@niyiogunkoya) March 28, 2016

    And it continued.

Then another young man jumped in.

@abikedabiri @niyiogunkoya @MBuhari No stable power, High insecurity, Low wages, poor infrastructures etc what am I coming home for?

    — Onuoha David (@davo2short) March 28, 2016

Before she gave the answer that caused a major tweet-storm!

Looking at it this way, it doesn’t seem that bad.

But most people, without investigating, jumped on her case.

While a few took time to read the thread and found nothing wrong.

Some who followed the thread still saw her statement as wrong, no matter the context.

An NYSC Member Is Changing Lives In Her Own Small Way
As much as some young Nigerians detest the idea of doing the mandatory one year youth service, a lot of those that have done theirs will testify that it was fun — especially the Orientation Camp experience. Corps members are finding various ways to do good and give back to society at their various places of primary assignment (PPA), just like this young lady, Don Draper, who shared her story.

She is currently serving Ohiya autonomous community in Abia state.

She was deployed to work as a secondary school teacher in the locale.

Initially, she didn’t want to serve at her PPA because of the deplorable condition of the school.

She was previously wary to serve in Abia because of the stories she heard about the state, she enjoyed the camp experience, but didn’t like the school.

She quickly settled into the school life after a few months and fell in love with the students.

She then devised a way to help her students excel at their studies and came up with the “Base Word Spelling Challenge “.

After the students prepared intensely for the challenge, the competition took place.

    And it was fierce.

    There were prizes.

They included: a one term scholarship, school bags, books and pens.

Two winners emerged from JS3 and SS3.

Senior secondary student, Uzoma, collects his prize.
Junior secondary student, Chinemerem, receiving his prize.

She’s certainly setting a good example and helping the future generation.

The challenge is now spreading to the rest of the state. Another secondary school will be hosting an edition for students. Her target is to organise the challenge in seven different schools across the state before her passing out parade (POP).

Once Again Controversial Singer, Princess Vitarah, Has Broken The Internet

Who knows the number of times the internet will shake in 2016?

Barely three weeks after we shared the most dramatic video of 2016, Princess Vitarah has made jaws drop again.

In the first week of March 2016, she dropped a controversial and unapologetic video titled “Nigerian Pussy”.

She sand about Nigerian Pussy being the cream of the crop but the video was taken down by YouTube. And as a sharp Nigerian girl, she had uploaded the video again in less than than 24 hours.

The song isn’t controversial for nothing.

    https://twitter.com/PrincessVitarah/status/706544888385392644
People are already jamming to it in clubs and are really feeling the song.

Roughly three weeks after, she believes her video has increased the tourism rate in Nigeria by 7%.

    https://twitter.com/PrincessVitarah/status/712665362521673729

How did she even calculate the percentage?

Even Wizkid with all the international exposure his Ojuelegba song amassed, has not made such claims.

Maybe she thinks her song is more effective to the economy than the president’s many travels.

Is that why that Ghanaian girl was angry at Nigerians?

    We are so deeply touched.

  • According To A New Report, Nigeria Is The 8th Happiest Country In Africa!

According To A New Report, Nigeria Is The 8th Happiest Country In Africa!

Are Nigerians truly one of the happiest groups of people in the world?

In recognition of the UN World Happiness Day, a ranking of the world’s happiest countries was released on March 20, 2016  by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network.

The most important factors the report considered where the GDP per capita, life expectancy, social support, trust in government, generousity and freedom to make life decisions.

Out of the 157 countries ranked, only 7 African countries were in the top 100 in the World Happiness Report.

Algeria and Mauritius topped the African list, globally ranking 38 and 66 respectively..

Even in the face of social unrest, countries like Libya and Somalia are the 3rd and 4th happiest African countries ranking 66 and 67 consecutively worldwide.

Nigeria was ranked as the 8th happiest country in Africa, behind Morocco, Somaliland and Tunisia.

Nigeria was placed globally at the 103rd position in light of the relevance of GDP per Capita and social support in the country. The report shows that Nigerian’s aren’t necessarily bothered by freedom to make life choices.

Zambia and Sierra Leone came 9th and 10th due to strong social support system and freedom to make life choices.

Unfortunately, several African countries such as Madagascar, Tanzania, Rwanda and Liberia dominated the bottom of the list with Togo and Burundi ranking below Afghanistan and Syria respectively.

This report goes to show a slight glimpse of the state of some African countries in the continent.

However, Nigerian writer, Yomi Kazeem doesn’t necessarily believe this is a bad thing. He is of the opinion that many more young Africans have stopped overlooking and making light of the issues that plague their countries and have started speaking out on every medium they can access.

Now, there a new short film that’s about the issue.

It’s about sexual relationships, same sex ones to be exact.

Titled Hell and High Water, this film deals with homosexuality and religion.

It tells the story of a young pastor who is loved and adored by those around him. But when he has to confront his inner demons, things change. He has to deal with “a truth” that could make or break him psychologically.

But, whatever his choice is, there will still be serious repercussions.

Because life as he knew it is about to change. Hell and High Water explores the reality of sexuality amidst spirituality, exorcism, blackmail and family life.

It is produced by AMVCA winner, Asurf Oluseyi, and written by Habeeb Lawal.

Check Out This Badass Female Barber Based In Enugu
It is no longer uncommon to find Nigerian women breaking into fields of work that have been thought to be restricted to men.

One more pair of hands that carve friction sharper than a butcher’s knife has been added to the list of awesome Nigerian haircut stylists.

Meet Kenechukwu Ezeh, a 300 level student currently studying Co-operatives and Rural Development at Enugu State University of Science and Technology.

She is the most popular female Nigerian barber at the moment who was encouraged by her mother to learn the skills due to the high unemployment rates in Nigeria.

Although born and bred in Lagos, Kenechukwu moved to Enugu with her family after her father’s death and obtained a National Diploma in Business Administration.

Her mother’s suggestion initially put Kenechukwu and her sister Chinelo off, but after giving the idea some thought they decided to go through with their training.

Being female and working at a barbershop wasn’t very easy for them as some of their male colleagues refused to recognise them as barbers.

However, she is currently the CEO of her haircut salon, Gap Barbershop in Enugu and her friction style is giving us life.

  • Tanzania’s President Magufuli Is At It Again!

Tanzania’s President Magufuli Is At It Again!
John Magufuli keeps giving other African presidents leadership goals. From looking for ways to use taxpayers money for more important things to providing quality health care to free education for children. The man has been known to drive himself.

Now he has done something else. He went to renew his gun license and went through due process.

And Africans are admiring him for it.

Some imagined how the exercise would have been like if it was another president.

@abdikadir2014 @coldtusker In Kenya, this would have been accompanied by political speeches and entertainment by traditional troupes

    — Michael Owuor (@Myqall) March 22, 2016

Some lauded him for setting a good example.

@abdikadir2014 @jadwong #magufuli is just such a law abiding citizen. he is patrotic and a leader africa needs to push forward

    — ossy b (@ossybmusic) March 22, 2016

Some wondered why he needed a gun.

@RobertAlai lol…publicity stunt…does he really need a gun considering He’s the most protected Tanzanian?

    — Roy Senior ⚽ (@Kevchicah) March 21, 2016

    Some compared Tanzania to Kenya.

@RobertAlai that a leader showing example to his people in Kenya you are threatened with the license

    — stephen kikau (@StephenKikau) March 21, 2016

And some wondered about something critical.

@abdikadir2014 ……… Eh….is he putting his Pistol inside his trouser or is there a holster ?

  • Please, Is P-Square Back Together?!

    Please, Is P-Square Back Together?!
A lot of us were beyond heartbroken when it looked like the music duo had broken up. With all the drama and shade they were throwing at each other, and he said, they said, it certainly looked like they had done enough damage and had gone past the point of no return. In spite of this, fans were doing all they could for them to get back together.

Like this really passionate fan that cried her eyes out.

And this girl who couldn’t read for her exams, thanks to P-Square.

Just when we thought all hope was lost, we saw this picture on Peter’s timeline on the 19th of March.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/BDILQKRysHy/?taken-by=peterpsquare&hl=en
He said, “Psquare live in Rotterdam Netherland Saturday 26th March. Be there or be squared. It’s Gonna rock!@palmundoworld #festival“. We were just looking, because this wasn’t the first time we heard that they had reconciled, only for them to turn around and be like they’re two, not one. They had stretched our hearts way past its elastic capacity.

But then, Paul posted it on his own page three days later!

He wrote, “We are there live!!!! Rotterdam Netherlands on da 26th March @palmundofestival“. We began to have hope again.

Then they posted this within the same hour.

That it took our stupidity to realize that FAMILY comes first, We are VERY SORRY“.

Lupita’s Spread For Instyle Magazine Is Pure Fire!

The queen of melanin and total slayage is back at it again!

Back at it again with the gorgeousness and slayage!

Actress and fashion icon, Lupita Nyong’o is slaying everybody’s lives on the cover of Instyle Magazine’s April issue.

Sporting a green dress by Proenza Schouler, Lupita speaks on the lack of diversity in Hollywood.

She expresses her disappointment in the Academy’s failure to recognise diverse Hollywood actors for Oscar nominations.

She says “There is a real imbalance, from the very creation of the stories and who’s telling them, how, and why. Change has to happen with the writers, the studio, the marketers, the directors. That’s got to be diversified because there is a hunger for the expansion of the role of people of color in the center of narratives”.

Lupita isn’t joking with her career.

“Both my parents raised me to pursue the things that make me feel most alive…because that’s how you can have the most effect,” she says. “That allowed me to get passionate about something that can sometimes seem as inconsequential as acting and then find important things to do with it”.

    Damn Lupita!

    Colour blocking on fleek!

Just look how these bold colours pop beautifully against her skin.

    She’s fashion goals!

We can’t wait for her next photo spread.

  • The US Embassy In Nigeria Reveals 8 Easy Ways To Successfully Get Your Visa

The US Embassy In Nigeria Reveals 8 Easy Ways To Successfully Get Your Visa

*Ahem* This is a Public Service Announcement for all aspiring IJGBs and all those who want to change their BBM/Twitter location to a foreign country.

Unlike, the widespread perception about how difficult getting  visa to foreign countries, this article posted by the US embassy in Nigeria, shows the consular officers’ perspective of the visa application process.

    1. Never present fraudulent documents.

Using fake documents and visa packages can either completely ruin any chance of ever getting access into the country or earn the applicant some time in prison.

    2. It’s called an interview for a reason, engage the consular officer in a conversation.

We’re not saying you should do amebo oh. They’re humans who would be interested to learn about Nigerian culture or probably our premium Jollof rice.

    3. It’s not always by documents.

If you’re travelling to the US especially, your documents aren’t the most important part. Simply present your documents and let them interview you.

    4. Tell them about yourself and what you do.

They honestly don’t bite. Picture this: If you wanted to take someone into your home, wouldn’t you want to get to know them before they move in? The purpose of the interview is for them to simply get to know who you are.

    5. Truthfully explain why you chose their country of all the several foreign countries of the world.

You’re the one convincing them to admit you into their country. They actually have the right to know what makes their country appealing to you.

    6. Confirm whatever information you hear about visas from the embassy.

Rather than go for your interview with false information, the safest thing to do is simply reaching out to the embassy to confirm useful information.

    7. Give detailed answers to the questions asked.

Explaining in details will help them understand you better and also make the process easier.

    8. Bear in mind that the consulate officers are only doing their jobs and obeying the laws of their country.

We know you’re going to cast and bind them on the morning of your interview. Just know that they’re people with jobs just like you.

  • According To Sahara Reporters, That Central Bank Job You Should Have Gotten Is Going To Those That ‘Have Mouth’

According To Sahara Reporters, That Central Bank Job You Should Have Gotten Is Going To Those That ‘Have Mouth’
Some Nigerians believe that there are no jobs, some believe there are jobs, if you know where to look. But it’s come to light that there are plenty of jobs, but it’s being snatched up by people with “connections”.
Of course there’s the getting of jobs through networking, which is legit. But there are those that aren’t qualified, who still get important jobs because their parents or relatives or family friends are in power. Like the current situation that has come to light.

Sahara Reporters broke the news of Nigerians who were offered important positions at the Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN).

The news site published a list of young people who have influential background and were recently offered appointments by CBN in a covert hiring process.

More than 200 people are said to be on this list!

We know this happens, but this one is on a really large scale. SaharaReporters claims CBN appointed these relatives of various government officials without following due process.

    Wow! Just wow!

That many people?! Nawa for Nigeria.

And we thought the Nigerian government couldn’t surprise us anymore.

This is disappointing, even though it’s not surprising.

This is the second scandal to happen since Godwin Emefiele became the governor of Central Bank.

Before this, CBN was scammed to the tune of 190,000 dollars.

The reactions of Nigerians were varied.

Some made jokes, as Nigerians like to do in these kind of situations.

To some, it’s not only CBN that does this. They just got caught at it.

Some see It as democratic freedom.

Some believe that no Nigerian is innocent. They just do theirs on a smaller scale.

Others believe that the CBN needs to be cleaned up.

  • This Guy Shows That He Is Aware Of How The Female Body Really Works!

This Guy Shows That He Is Aware Of How The Female Body Really Works!
Most men have unrealistic expectations of what the female body should look like. It puts pressure on women to find fault in how nature created them and some go to ridiculous lengths just to achieve the unrealistic-looking bodies we see everywhere today.

But, in a series of tweets, this guy shows that he’s more educated than most men and that his mother taught him well!

Women loved his tweets so much that some are offering to date him and give him the world.

@younggwhite look at this educated and respectful man who is aware of how the female body really works. Date me and I’ll give you the world.

    — Mia (@chaneIiman) March 20, 2016

Others want more men to be like him.

@younggwhite damn, how I wish all men were this educated and respectful towards women. tell em!

    — marie (@wasteddream_) March 20, 2016

    Let the lectures begin.

    https://twitter.com/younggwhite/status/711411343706836996

no knock on the balloon women @ all, respects to their bodies but the way natural bodies are perceived is wrong. a they were here first lol

    — J (@younggwhite) March 20, 2016

the term “saggy” is whack. y’all want double D breasts to sit up on a woman’s neck but nature does not operate like that ?

    — J (@younggwhite) March 20, 2016

the elasticity of a woman’s skin isn’t made to support all that extra weight. hence the “sag” some scientists even call it a birth adaptat.

    — J (@younggwhite) March 20, 2016

stretch marks come from a sudden growth/change in weight. the female body usually naturally fattens to prepare for pregnancy after puberty

    — J (@younggwhite) March 20, 2016

hence why women get stretch marks on their stomach, thighs, upper arm, butt, etc. They are literally nothing but lines ? completely harmless

    — J (@younggwhite) March 20, 2016

y’all are disgusted by nature taking its course on women but condone them being cut open and having silicon sacs put in them/fat transfers?

    — J (@younggwhite) March 20, 2016

all in all plastic surgery isn’t wrong because a person can to whatever they want to their body. just checking motives though

    — J (@younggwhite) March 20, 2016

all the dudes that have so much to say about the female body actually know so little about it and it’s hilarious.

    — J (@younggwhite) March 20, 2016

let me not even get started on the structure of the vagina which is so heavily misconstrued. I really don’t want to. I may

    — J (@younggwhite) March 20, 2016

just 1 question. how does a girl having sex with 10 guys make her “loose” but her having sex with 1 guy 100 times bring on the term “tight”

    — J (@younggwhite) March 20, 2016

I’m talking about the same vagina which naturally snaps right back to normal after having an entire baby come out of it.

    — J (@younggwhite) March 20, 2016

a woman’s cervix can stretch upwards of 4 inches wide when giving birth, with the tissue in the vaginal canal stretching even wider

    — J (@younggwhite) March 20, 2016

our dicks are not bulldozers. ? in fact they basically light work to the vagina. unless a woman is out here doing dicks bigger than a baby??

    — J (@younggwhite) March 20, 2016

there is no way in vaginal hell that there is enough penal variation man to man that will destroy a vagina like you idiots claim. just sayin

    — J (@younggwhite) March 20, 2016

“bro she was loose as hell like I slid right in” congratulations sir that was a properly lubricated vagina. u somehow turned a woman on

    — J (@younggwhite) March 20, 2016

“bro she was extremely tight like I could barely move in that jawn” you sir are as much of a failure as you sound.

    — J (@younggwhite) March 20, 2016

this is from the same peanut gallery that considers a woman’s pain and discomfort during sex as “beating it up” lmfao but y’all carry on

    — J (@younggwhite) March 20, 2016

We definitely need more men like this guy in the world!
