  • Self-Services Redefines Convenient, Smart Banking

    Self-Services Redefines Convenient, Smart Banking

Future-forward financial services providers are pitching more self-services that increase convenience and more value for customers.

For older bank customers, the ‘tally number’ era is still fresh on the mind – a euphemism for long queues and stay in the banking halls that characterised manual banking operations in Nigeria, in the 80s and early 90s.

Interestingly, banks in Nigeria are among the forerunners of automation and technology innovations that we have today. Rollout of tech services and products by banks, fintech and big data companies is seriously disrupting the social, economic, and lifestyle ecosystems.

Not only has technology changed the way we do things, bank transactions, purchases, payments and delivery of goods and services are now quicker or faster than before with online and virtual channels and platforms. Intra and inter-bank transactions, and processing of applications for account opening, account statements, or other services have also significantly improved.

Innovations like ALAT, Nigeria’s leading digital banking platform by Wema Bank, are becoming a part of our everyday life as the world goes digital. In the last one decade, the Nigerian banking industry has witnessed rapid transformation occasioned by digital disruptions, which they leverage as game-changers to stay ahead of the competition.

Deloitte, in its 13th Annual Tech Trends 2022 report, stated that it was rewarding for organisations and businesses to engineer their ‘‘tech-forward future’’ to ‘‘unlock innovation, build trust, and engineer advantage for your digital journey.’’

According to the report, banks grappling with many challenges, including strict regulations and competition from fintechs, can thrive in a digital society by continually introducing future-proof technologies and processes to stay and be ahead.

A few of the latest features onboarded onto ALAT is another example of how future-forward financial services providers are pitching more self-services that increase convenience and more value for customers. With ALAT, existing customers and new customers can do a lot with the icing on the cake being gaining huge interest in savings.

For example, customers can put idle funds to use on fixed or flexible tenures or invest money to earn amazing interests, without visiting the bank. Whether in Nigeria or in the Diaspora, at the click of a smartphone, you can open a domiciliary account and earn 4.5% interest when they save in dollars.

That’s not all – ALAT Trybe members can also access loans anytime and from wherever they are. It’s even a bigger pie for salary earners and street hustlers! They can secure instant loans for as low as N5,000 up to N4,000,000 – all at low interest compared to what they can get anywhere else. But there’s more – no collateral, no paperwork. That’s one of the outstanding benefits of being a member of the ALAT Trybe!!!

Guess what? The self-service account opening takes five (5) minutes only; that’s like an instant activation. Moreso, your credit/debit card gets delivered to your doorstep free! If you prefer cardless transactions, there is a virtual Naira card too.

Joining the ALAT Trybe is simple. With a visit to the Apple Store or Google Play on your phone, download the app, sign-up and activate. Then, you will start enjoying the convenience and pleasure of smart banking at your fingertips.

  • What Is Modern Public Relations? Baden Bower Puts a Spin on an Old Industry

What Is Modern Public Relations? Baden Bower Puts a Spin on an Old Industry

The public relations (PR) industry is one of the world’s oldest and most established industries. However, according to controversial publicity firm Baden Bower, it is also one of the most rapidly changing and evolving industries. To keep up with the PR industry’s ever-changing landscape, PR agencies must constantly adapt and change their strategies.

Public relations has changed substantially since the advent of Tik Tok, Reddit, Facebook, Instagram and social media generally.

The digital era has changed the game, requiring publicists to have a deep knowledge of influencers, editorial features that go beyond mere mentions, and strategies designed to achieve return on investment in the same way that advertisers measure their spend on Google Ads and Facebook.

    Traditional PR

Traditional PR is a type of marketing that focuses on generating positive press for a company or product. This can be accomplished through media relations, which include interacting with reporters and obtaining news coverage. It can also be done by arranging a press conference or sponsoring a charitable event. Traditional PR can be a very successful approach to increase brand awareness and generate positive buzz about a company or product.

Unfortunately, traditional PR can be pretty expensive, especially for large companies. Companies also have less control when working with traditional media, as news outlets and reporters may choose to ignore or downplay a story. Finally, traditional PR relies heavily on media gatekeepers, such as editors and journalists, to get the word out. This can be a barrier for companies trying to reach their audience directly.

Modern PR In The Digital Age

Publicists are struggling to keep up with the pace of change in the new game of PR. The question that is often asked by old school publicists is what is modern PR? The term “modern PR” describes the new era of public relations. Modern PR is about more than just getting the word out; with the advent of social media, modern PR is about managing your digital footprint in Google search, building positing brand equity about a company when potential customers do background checks and search for reviews and establishing entrepreneurs, artists and entertainers as thought leaders. It’s about creating engaging and helpful content and telling stories that resonate with your audience.

    The pros and cons

Both approaches have advantages and disadvantages. Traditional PR is a great way to reach a large number of people quickly, but it is not always the most effective strategy for developing connections. Traditional PR is also costly and heavily reliant on media gatekeepers such as editors and journalists.

On the other hand, modern public relations is good at building connections and is generally less expensive than traditional PR. Of course, the trade-off is that reaching a large audience can take much longer.

How Baden Bower changes the game

Baden Bower is a full-service public relations agency providing clients with various services. They provide traditional media relations in addition to digital marketing, crisis management services and search engine optimization.

Regardless of a brand or business’ public relations needs, Baden Bower can assist in gaining the visibility they require. Baden Bower works with a wide variety of companies worldwide through the provision of top-quality guaranteed editorial placements with its team of PR experts and a data-driven approach. With their experience and expertise, Baden Bower guarantees its clients results or their money back.

  • A Baby Girl’s Guide to Investing

A Baby Girl’s Guide to Investing

Up until recently, my idea of building wealth was how fat my bank account was. If my bank account was looking healthy with just enough zeros, then I considered myself a baby girl. It meant that I had just enough to take care of my bills and still splurge. Little did I realize that I was setting myself up for a bad financial life- one in which I was sorely dependent on my paycheck. Even worse was how my money was being badly affected by inflation, yet I was oblivious to this. All I thought I needed was to get more jobs or an increase in my salary. Yet forgetting that I wasn’t protecting my current earnings. All that has changed since I discovered investing.

    Here is a baby girl’s guide to investing;

    1. Do a financial audit:

The first thing you need to do is carry out a personal financial audit. You don’t want to start without getting rid of any financial baggage that could ruin your goals. It’s like decluttering your closet- making space for some breath of fresh air and the possibility of some much needed cool and trending pieces. Same should apply to your finances. Whatever doesn’t fit into your new financial space, get rid of it. Also, have a clear idea of all your assets including cash.

    1. Have a financial plan:

This is where your financial goals alongside your budget comes in. You need to be clear about the financial path you wish to undertake. What do you hope to achieve from investing? This makes committing easier because you know exactly what you are looking to achieve. You can download the SFS Fund financial plan template to guide you.

    1. Research investment products

There are several investment products in the market to meet your financial plan. However, it is very important that you do your research and carry out due diligence on any investment product before you plunge into any. As one who is looking to start your investing journey, I recommend mutual funds. It offers you flexibility- easy entry and easy exit. SFS Fund offers this with highly competitive interest rates and no penalty fees on pre-termination.

    1. Take action

Now that you have done your research and found a product that works for you, it’s time to take action- make an investment. Fortunately, there are investment products like SFS Fund that allows you to invest as little as N5,000. With the SFS Fund mobile app, investing on the go is easy and you have access to your investment anywhere you are.

    1. Automate your investment

Earning bigger returns and achieving your financial goals lies in your ability to stay committed. On SFS Fund, you can automate your investment such that you credit your investment account just as you receive your income. For salary earners, this is a lot easier as you can do this to align with your pay day ensuring that you put this money away before that new 26” 300 grams Asian Straight Bundles with HD frontal takes it all away.

Here is an extra tip that I use. If I need to go on a trip or make a significant purchase like my bone straight hair, I invest that money first, earn some interest on it before I take the money out to splurge- leaving my interest to keep building. I also use my investment account as a point of collection for any major expense I wish to make but yet to save up all the money that I need. Rather than use a savings account that yields me very little, I use my investment account. With SFS Fund’s easy withdrawal policy with no pretermination charge, I can do this.

  • How 12 Baskets Has Served Nigerians With Special Culinary for 19 Years

How 12 Baskets Has Served Nigerians With Special Culinary for 19 Years

For 19 years, 12 Baskets has continued to serve Nigerians with special culinary dishes in the form of small chops. Since joining Bolt Food in 2021, 12 Baskets has seen improvement in delivery timing and business growth. As a growing food delivery platform, Bolt Food leverages its expertise in innovation and technology to ensure that partner restaurants benefit from its loyal customer base and other benefits.

In this chat with Michael Afolaranmi, CEO of 12 Baskets Food Limited, he speaks on running 12 Baskets and how being a vendor on Bolt Food has augmented the growth of the business.

Kindly introduce yourself and your brand.

My name is Afolaranmi Michael, and I am the chairman/CEO of 12 Basket’s group. 12 baskets food limited is a company under the group with a speciality in culinary dishes like small chops and other foods.

12 Baskets is a beloved small chops brand in Nigeria. When did you begin and what motivated you to venture into the culinary field?

12 baskets has been operating for 19 years. I began the culinary business because I loved it. My mom is a caterer so it was natural for me to have a strong affinity for it.

You are one of the most popular vendors on the Bolt Food app. What inspired your decision to register on the platform?

I joined the Bolt Food platform in 2021. We decided to register on Bolt Food because they are a strong brand with wider coverage and it’s been a pleasure being on the platform. Our engagement since joining the platform has been really encouraging.

We have been approached by other food delivery platforms, but our board chose to only register on Bolt Food. The other platforms had unfavourable conditions to join their platforms, so the 12 Baskets management wanted to be associated with Bolt Food instead.

Can you describe your experience since you joined the Bolt Food platform and how has it impacted your operations?

Although 12 Baskets can offer logistics for its services, Bolt Food gives us extended publicity and reach, which drives sales. Bolt Food handles its own delivery, while 12 baskets has separate logistics on their own also. So our operations on Bolt Food are just an extension of our services.  With Bolt Food, we just decided to extend our publicity and reach.

So it was not like Bolt Food was the first platform that approached us, but the 12 Basket management preferred them. We have always had our own logistics, but Bolt Food improved our delivery timing to customers, bringing us efficiency and productivity.

As a food vendor in Nigeria, what would you say are the challenges or difficulties you face in the industry?

Almost every business in the country has logistics problems. For us, we have been able to solve this with our internal logistics services and with huge support from the Bolt Food platform.

Lastly, what advice would you give to fellow restaurateurs looking to expand their market share?

First one is to believe in one’s ability. The second is to have control over the quality of one’s product and that is what 12 Baskets has been able to practice over the years. Our products have remained the same in Lagos Island, Abuja and Lekki. Number three, one must work according to the guidelines of the government. Every plan must abide by government policy.

  • Money Is Not Only Meant for Spending: How I Spend and Save Smartly With gomoney

Money Is Not Only Meant for Spending: How I Spend and Save Smartly With gomoney

There is virtue in cultivating a saving habit because the worst money decision comes when one is under pressure, does not have a budget or doesn’t have money saved up for a specific goal or investment but my worst fear is the latter- not having money saved up, the thought alone sends a cold chill down my spine. What I know as saving today started when I was little, listening to my grandmother’s tales of how people stored money in pots and buried them in the ground and watching my own mother take out a fraction of her income to her secret safe within the house. She made me promise not to tell my father, giggling. Those stories and memories formed a great part of my saving journey.

My savings journey, where can I start from? Is it the number of times I had to enter the bank in a month to save or the long queues accompanied by the discomfort of standing for hours in the bank just to access my hard-earned money because that was the only option some few years back? My joy knew no bounds when savings moved from those long hours of discomfort to automating my savings from the comfort of my house thanks to the influx of digital banks. To be honest, at first, I was a bit sceptical but all my fears were allayed when I started using gomoney.

How this digital bank has saved me is something I enjoy talking about. I have been able to keep track of my money and make smart money decisions. Nowadays everybody wants to spend and save their money at the same time which is possible if you have the proper saving plan, and the digital bank makes that possible. I can set money goals and save according to my different needs and purposes in multiple stashes. In other words, I can have a stash for a travel goal with a savings target of one million naira and also have a stash for a change of wardrobe, laptop, emergency fund etc. This way I stay disciplined and avoid impulsive spending.

Saving doesn’t have to be boring and enormous, I can automate my savings as well as set up recurring payments to my created stash which gives me a higher chance of meeting my goals and target. There is also the option to stop saving on a set custom stop date or when my savings target is met.

Maybe adulthood is a scam and you will most likely keep pledging allegiance to that line anytime you are faced with enormous bills or you went a bit overboard in your monthly spending but the fact still remains that If you don’t know how to manage your money well, you would probably feel anxious and overwhelmed when you think about spending or saving money.

As you work and earn your money, always remember that impulsive spending will always come knocking reminding you that money is meant to be spent, don’t panic, it’s just a gentle reminder that you can spend and save smartly with gomoney.

Start your journey to financial freedom today by downloading the gomoney app via the Play store or App Store.

This season’s battle for the Big Brother Naija grand prize of 100 million Naira has ended, with the rollercoaster of drama, emotions, betrayal, love triangles, ego clashes and more, playing out on social media platforms like Twitter, just as much as it did on viewers’ TVs at home. The intense support from the fan base, both home and abroad, was showcased through their Tweets, GIFs, emojis and screengrabs which brought the popular reality TV show to life on the Timeline.

Below are some of the most significant highlights that had #TwitterNaija in a frenzy throughout the season.

Phyna is the winner of the Big Brother Naija Season 7!

A major highlight, which attracted a flurry of Tweets and activity on the Timeline, was the season finale which saw Phyna win the coveted prize, after 72 days in the house. It is the second time in the show’s history that a female housemate has won. Bryann was the runner up followed by Bella and Adekunle. Lifestyle and entertainment page @Postsubman was among many to share the news in a Tweet.

Fan favourite, Hermes was not a finalist?!

It was an unfortunate twist of fate for Hermes’ fans on #TwitterNaija as he got evicted from the house just before the finale. He was evicted alongside two other popular housemates, Groovy and Sheggz. That particular eviction week was a shocker for fans, and they didn’t hide their feelings about it. Famous fashion stylist @Toyin Lawani was among those who expressed their shock, and thought it was a joke.

Hermes was definitely regarded by many as one of the top contenders for the 100 million grand prize.

  • How to Save and Retain Your Money’s Worth With USDT – USDT Could Save Your Personal Finance, but You’re Adamant

How to Save and Retain Your Money’s Worth With USDT – USDT Could Save Your Personal Finance, but You’re Adamant

Here’s Why Saving with USDT Is a Superb Option for You

Not to be cocky (only just a little), but after reading this article, you’ll call up that friend you explicitly told to shut up about crypto. They’ll probably be chill about it because the sense of fulfilment after winning someone over is satisfying enough.

    First off, are you Nigerian?

I need to know if you understand the struggle or some of it at least. I’m a Nigerian living in Nigeria, so you’d best believe I understand.

I imagine you’ve been advised often to invest or save your money in crypto, but you decided your village people sent the person telling you. You’ve found it challenging to understand why anyone would want to invest their money in a market as unstable as the cryptocurrency market.

Also, your finance is most likely suffering from the strain of Nigeria’s inflation rate, measured at 19.64% in July 2022,  and you’ve been toying with several saving or investment options.

    Does this sound like you?

Maybe, this isn’t you at all, and you’ve just been searching for a safe entry into the crypto ecosystem.

Either way, I’ve got you covered and have the answers you seek in this article. You won’t have to worry about losing your money’s value or bearing the brunt of the risks that come with crypto, and you certainly won’t have to worry about your village people’s ploys.

I would’ve loved some suspense, but I know money matters are urgent.

Understand this, USDT will be your saviour; forget everything you’ve heard about cryptocurrency.

    What exactly is USDT?

Here’s the thing, Tether (USDT) is the largest stablecoin and one of the market’s most prominent blockchain-based cryptocurrencies (by market capitalisation).

    Yes, you read that correctly.

Even in the rapidly fluctuating crypto market, some form of stability still exists. Stablecoins are a type of cryptocurrency (altcoins) that maintain incredibly low volatility by being attached to the value of a relatively stable asset such as gold, fiat currency, or another digital currency.

In simpler terms (I’m not calling you a dummy, I promise), prices of stablecoins are steady because they draw their stability from the asset they are pegged to.

Now, the undramatic USDT is pegged to the U.S. dollar at a ratio of 1:1 (that is, each USDT unit is valued at 1 dollar), providing it with the price stability of the dollar and utility as a reliable store of value.

You’re probably wondering, “Is USDT safe?”

USDT has a transparent, fully backed collateral reserve which is published daily. Tether Limited has also asserted that it allocates equal amounts of the U.S. dollar to issued USDT tokens, so you can rest assured that the stablecoin is backed and protected.

As a matter of fact, USDT provides liquidity to crypto traders, enabling them to transact with minimal losses (or gains) due to erratic cryptocurrency price fluctuations.

But you’re not a crypto trader yet, are you? So the million dollar question is:

How Can You Wield USDT to Your Advantage?

Look, if you’re like me, you make it a point to steer clear of anything that poses a likely threat to your funds, including online shopping stores. So I can categorically say that I understand your scepticism around crypto-related subjects.

But respectfully, move out of your way!

USDT has several benefits for the average Nigerian, and I see no reason for you to oppose a low-risk helpful financial hack.

Here is how USDT can be useful to you:

    Protect Yourself Against Inflation

Unfortunately, Nigeria has been in an extensive economic crisis with no end in sight (every day, I hope for change). Inflation rates are at an all-time high, forcing Nigerians to save their funds in more valuable currencies like the U.S. dollar to retain their money’s worth.

    Listen up!

Before you rush off to buy your dollars at exorbitant rates and further devalue and weaken the naira, USDT is a splendid alternative that protects your funds without harming the already bruised economy.

You don’t need to be told twice, but USDT is the perfect digital currency to guard your money against inflation without fearing price fluctuations.

Not only do you avoid the loss of your money’s value, but you can also count on inflation to make you richer by increasing the naira equivalent to your saved USDT units.

A win-win situation if you ask me.

You can buy USDT safely on Yellow Card.

    Make Convenient International Transactions

We all know that international transfer charges are hellish and discouraging. Getting money across to individuals and businesses in other countries can be extremely costly and unappealing.

    USDT to the rescue!

Endowed with a borderless feature, USDT makes international transactions convenient, trouble-free, and affordable. You can easily send money safely and cheaply to your loved ones, business partners, and beneficiaries across borders.

Plus, using USDT for international payments is much quicker than the typical international transfer process.

    Safely Enter the Cryptocurrency Ecosystem

If you’ve been looking for a way to get into the crypto sphere without having to stomach big blows on your funds, then USDT is the perfect fit.

It is safe, stable, and low-risk and provides reliable liquidity to investors.

Subsequently, you can build up your crypto wealth by purchasing other cryptocurrencies with the globally acknowledged USDT, as some exchanges would not accept the local currency.

How to Store Your Funds with USDT

Of course, you’re already convinced at this point, so I’ll just go ahead and guide you on how to save with USDT securely.

You can easily  buy USDT at the best rates on Yellow Card with no hidden charges, and safely hold the USDT in your wallet for as long as you’d like.

Follow these simple steps to get started:

    • Sign up for a Yellow Card account, then verify your information

    Conclusion

All in all, USDT as a stablecoin provides an option for Nigerians to guard their finances against inflation, regulate the risks typically related to the crypto market, and flourish financially.

The event presented an opportunity for Glovo to host and honour its partners and stakeholders for their contributions to the growth of the business in the past year. Guests were taken down the memory lane of Glovo’s business operations and key highlights of some achievements to date, including a robust expansion across key cities in Nigeria (Lagos, Abuja & Ibadan), with a vision to expand to other cities in the coming years. The event’s highlight was the couriers’ training held in collaboration with GIZ (German Agency for International Cooperation GmbH – Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH) under the VET Toolbox Initiative on professionalizing the skills development of delivery riders in Nigeria. Through this partnership, Glovo aims to improve the technical and soft skills of at least 300 riders collaborating with the Glovoapp.

“We are excited and honored to celebrate the first year of Glovo in Nigeria,” said Lorenzo Mayol, General Manager for Glovo Nigeria. “We owe our success stories to our partners for their unwavering hard work and contributions, our users for their consistent loyalty, trust and support, and the couriers who collaborate with our platform. Nigeria is a key market for us due to its high and untapped potential and rapid growth, and the partnerships we have built so far have become a metaphor for endless possibilities. We remain committed to delivering value to our users, the community, and the country’s economy for years to come.”

Also speaking, Tokunbo Ibrahim, Public Affairs Manager, Sub-Saharan Africa for Glovo said, “At Glovo, we are committed to our entire ecosystem of partners, couriers and users. Since commencing operations in Nigeria, we have signed over 3,000 partners with over 97% being small and medium enterprises, onboarded and trained more than 2,000 couriers, and have invested in local talent that drives Glovo’s growth in this market. We will continue to work closely with our users and the wider community to ensure we deliver value by creating economic opportunities for all our stakeholders.”

In his remarks at the event, the General Manager for the Courier and Logistics Regulatory Department of NIPOST, Mr Gideon Shonde commended Glovo for its efforts in upskilling couriers and stated that among the over 500 licensed operators in Nigeria, what Glovo has achieved in its one year of operations is laudable particularly as it relates to investment in the training of couriers.

  • How Asia Is Set to Become a Football Region Soon

How Asia Is Set to Become a Football Region Soon

Football is the world’s most popular sport, particularly, in Europe and South America. It has a worldwide presence, especially since you can find a pitch almost anywhere. Despite this popularity, Asia is not the most powerful football region in the world even though its population is sizably bigger than the rest of the world.

Thankfully, recent signs have shown that Asia has taken a liking to football. Countries like South Korea, Japan, Thailand, and many more have shown that they are big fans of the sport and are doing their best to become competitive against the toughest teams.

Asian countries are bolstering their youth systems and football leagues to keep up with the rest of the world. Their own leagues have become top-tier markets for BTC gambling in online sportsbooks. Let’s take a look at what Asian countries are doing to cement their status as a football-loving continent just like South America and Europe.

Asian footballers are inspiring the youth

Despite the lack of popularity of football in Asia in the past, there are a few standouts that have bucked the trend. Asian footballers like Son Heung-min and Takumi Minamino have become worldwide stars and have left an indelible mark. The youth hold them in high esteem which has left these kids to follow their dreams.

Football was mostly seen as a sport for the people in the West but it has already taken over many Asian countries. Son has had a cultural impact on South Korea as he is seen as a hero by their citizens.

Son is not the only star from his country because before he even played for any senior squad, Park Ji-sung was the icon for his generation. There were only a few players in the past but nowadays, there is a plethora of Asians in football.

Football continues to get media attention in Asia

While certain Asian players will be important when it comes to proving that the continent can produce talented players, the overall coverage of football makes the youth want to play. Watching leagues like the Premier League or La Liga is a strong reason why the sport has become so popular.

Superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have transcended borders and have become two of the most popular football players in the world. They are primarily known as footballers and with the ‘cool aura’ that they give off, more people become interested in what they do. This has led to Asian countries having their own leagues like the Chinese Super League or the J1 League in Japan.

The youth are more aware of different sports now

The youth has the internet to use for entertainment and to follow their interests. In the past, the youth was only restricted to what they could see on television. Now, they have the internet as a wider lens to look into which has led to them seeing how football is played and what leagues they can watch through the internet.

It has unlocked a new facet of the sports world as they can regularly watch football matches through live streaming sites. They can watch a highlight reel from a footballer like Son or Messi through video-sharing sites like YouTube or social media platforms like Facebook. This kind of variety has widened people’s eyes towards sports, especially in Asia with football.

Asian football will get its own spotlight in the future

Park, Son, Minamino, and the current crop of Asian footballers are just the beginning because Asian football is primed to become the biggest football region worldwide. They are ready to take over the competitive aspect soon but in the meantime, you should do BTC gambling for yourself with these Asian leagues and other competitions like the Premier League.

  • Tecno Camon 19 Pro Mondrian Edition Has an Impressive and Artistic Upgrade You Can’t Resist

Tecno Camon 19 Pro Mondrian Edition Has an Impressive and Artistic Upgrade You Can’t Resist

TECNO launched a new Camon 19 edition on the 16th of August 2022, called the Mondrian Edition. For some, the name might seem strange, but for art lovers, not at all. The name Mondrian is related to a famous artist in the 1900s, and he was known for his abstract paintings that had clean lines and pops of color. How does this relate to the new TECNO Camon 19 Pro Edition? That is what we are here to find out.

We got a beautiful, colorful box of the Camon 19 Pro Mondrian Edition, and the first thing it reminded us of was the color-blocking time in fashion we had from 2010 to 2015, and it has reared its head again with different shades of the same colors. It struck me that when TECNO first launched their Camon 19 in June, it was with a fashion show, while with the Mondrian launch, it was with an art show. We were impressed because TECNO is taking technology to another level. I had to go in after an impressive first impression of the exterior design of the box.

Hitting us was the same pop of color on the outside with several boxes, and those boxes had items inside; one had the TECNO sonic earbuds in it, another had a pair of cufflinks and a pocket square, and another had the phone accessories in it and then the Camon 19 Pro Mondrian edition.

The first thing that hits you with this device is its clean and sleek look; at the back is a white and black-lined aesthetic with its shiny finish, which makes you think of a perfectly normal phone with a beautiful design. But TECNO has a surprise waiting. They have marketed that the TECNO Camon 19 Pro Mondrian version is an artsy phone, and once sunlight hits; it will give us the Piet Mondrian Painting color schemes.

When we took it out in the sun, as mentioned, it changed color instantly, and the plain white background gave way to a colorful and exciting back cover. We tried it under UV light, and it gave the exact results. It was a fun experience as the child in us came out. We couldn’t stop putting it under the sun to get the preferred experience. Even with the transparent back case, it still gave us the whole Mondrian experience.

We had to continue our review and experience greatness with the phone’s features. The Camon 19 Pro Mondrian Edition exceeds every mobile camera expectation. To start with, it has a dual-ring triple-camera design that helps balance the camera and back panel aesthetic to create a seamless feeling. As if that isn’t as unbelievable as it is, as a classy woman and a lover of night outings, TECNO Camon 19 Mondrian have you covered with the incredible night mode camera feature with a bright light that helps you capture everything without missing a thing. The pictures we took were fantastic as they were colorful, clear, and crisp. In addition, the device includes AI HDR technology that extends the dynamic range beyond what the camera’s sensors capture, allowing users to capture photos with a higher dynamic range, less noise, and sharper details.

The Camon 19 Pro Mondrian Edition has a 6.8-inch High Gamut Display+120Hz FHD screen with a super immersive display. The device is also a high-performance device that runs on HIOS 8.6 and the latest Android version 13, which allows for a wide range of user customization without rooting the mobile device. With the device’s dark mode, the phone gives users more battery time and decreases blue light emission, decreasing eye strain on its 1080*2560 HD+ resolution screen. Without even going any further, TECNO Camon 19 Pro Mondrian Edition is a mobile photography lover’s dream come through. With the flashlights, you’ll have clearer, brighter, and more appealing images with bursting colors, no matter how dark the environment is. Say hi to fashion magazine-worthy pictures! The camera also has a macro setup that enlarges even the tiniest details.

TECNO announced that some Mondrian devices would come with brand ambassador Tiwa Savage’s signature. You will agree that trendy things are not for everybody, so the number of these signature devices will be limited.

As a trendy woman who loves to be regarded as classy, having this mobile device speaks volumes about your impeccable taste. TECNO Camon 19 Pro Mondrian Edition lets you make the exact statement loud and clear before your voice does. Remember, the sleeker a person looks, the more elegant we all expect their phones to be.

I would encourage my trendy, creative peeps to buy, and with all these features, you would think it is expensive. The Camon 19 Pro Mondrian Edition sells at a retail price of N179,500. So, if you’re looking for a phone that can creatively serve you day and night, has a sleek design, and stands out. The TECNO Camon 19 Pro Mondrian Edition is the one to get.

What is style without a stylish phone?

It was fun, and easygoing, and successfully brought out the creativity and unique expression of the housemate’s Guinness Smooth experience.

Guinness Smooth put the housemates through a series of activities including a jigsaw puzzle, ball pit charade, beer pong and the Smooth Space Pitch. “Team Vibe”, “Team Easy”, and “Team Silk” gave it their best but in the end, there could only be one winner.

  • Keeping up with the “Level Up” housemates

Keeping up with the “Level Up” housemates

From ‘Double wahala’ in 2018 to ‘Shine ya eye’ in 2021, BBNaija housemates have consistently fed viewers with the best peppered sauce on reality TV. What typically starts with drama in the house, cooked from failed relationships, betrayal, and a clash of egos, culminates in amazing friendships and long lasting feuds outside the House – all fueled by the highly invested fanbase.

Although still in its early stages, the 2022 ‘Level up’ experience looks to be equally exciting as previous seasons, as housemates continue to surprise fans of Africa’s most popular TV reality show! Check out the highlights from the past month below!

    New season, new twists!

This season took on a new twist from prior seasons. A total of 24 housemates were admitted and divided into two houses (Level 1&2), which fans on #TwitterNaija dubbed “Island & Trenches”.

@mosvinbami seemed to enjoy all the drama both houses offered.

The “Tail of House” title was also given to the least performing housemate during the Head of House games, which Phyna “won” twice in a row. Impressive!

    Love trapeziums and sailing/sinking ‘ships’

Among the reasons fans on #TwitterNaija love the reality show are the relationship dynamics that are always at play. Many fans pointed out how quickly housemates fell in love and the lengths they go to protect said love; sometimes to the point of forfeiting the grand prize.

Did you see what Beauty did because of Groovy? Some fans thought it went too far.

Meanwhile, other fans thought Groovy was too quick to move on from Beauty with Phyna.

So far, the longest ‘ship’ is what Bella and Sheggzy have got going. Well, that ‘ship’ has also been hitting some icebergs recently. Folks on #TwitterNaija believe Sheggzy has been acting up since Bella showed interest in him.

Side note: the ‘ship’ that is becoming popular lately is that of Hermes and Allysyn, but let’s see how far this can sail!

    The elite fake housemate game!

Ok, BBN introduced more twists this year! This time, fake housemates have been sent on a mission to sink ships! Chizzy, especially, has been a crowd pleaser as he’s mastered the art of deception and seems to derive pleasure in carrying out Biggie’s secret tasks.

In a recent twist, Modella was evicted from the house and left the housemates stunned after they realised she was a fake housemate. What they don’t know is that there are two others who are set to cause even more trouble in the house.

    https://twitter.com/prudenceovlagos/status/1563966078862200834?s=20&t=oCIHVvrDzIX-lRc1_C9QvQ

    BBN’s earliest disqualification

Former beauty queen, Beauty got #TwitterNaija in a frenzy over repeated displays of aggressive behaviour which earned her three strikes, leading to an early disqualification. This is the earliest disqualification a housemate has received, with just 14 days in the house.

Remember the ‘situationship’ with Groovy? Fans on Twitter thought that might’ve contributed to Beauty losing focus.

    When Island meets Trenches

For more drama and plot twists, Big Brother decided to merge the level 1 and 2 housemates into one house. So, we no longer have the housemates divided into ‘island’ and ‘trenches.’ #TwitterNaija was excited as this adds new twists and allows for more drama. Now the real games begin!

    Surprise eviction

With six nominations, Amaka became the eighth housemate to be evicted from the game, missing out on a chance to compete for the coveted grand prize of N100 million. This was a surprise twist from Biggie, as he called the housemates for immediate eviction nominations, and Amaka was the victim.

As her eviction was announced she mumbled “I knew it, I knew it,” as though she was expecting it. Well, Daniel Regha has a ‘theory’.

  • Gaming Gets More Fun With Timelines

Gaming Gets More Fun With Timelines

Everybody knows time is more important than money. But if you are an online casino patron, there is a way you can spend both of them efficiently. Timelines, a game by Microgaming, explores the infinite possibilities where you get your time and your money’s worth. Here’s what you need to know about the game.

    Theme

Timelines sports a space-gemstone theme and features prisms of different colours as the common symbols you will encounter in the game. Other symbols in the game include orbs, cubes, and the clock symbol that trigger one of Timelines’ unique features.

The symbols are distributed in a 5×3 grid but there are also five spaces at the top where your last five spins will be recorded. The background of the base game looks like a wormhole in sci-fi movies that spacecraft use to transcend the limits of space-time.

    Paytable

Two of the main reasons to play Timelines are that the game has 243 ways to win and has an RTP of 96.17%. Four hexagonal gems coloured purple, red, green, and blue will be the low-paying symbols. Golden orbs and cubes emitting the same colour of energy as the gems are the high-paying symbols of this game.

    Special features

Don’t be disappointed by the lack of wild symbols in Timelines as the game makes up for it with four scatter symbols. Each of the four scatter symbols in this game has their unique effects:

    • The Timeline symbol, represented by a clock, allows you to transfer up to 15 symbols from your last five spins to give your current spin a better combination. Have at least one Timeline symbol on your reels to trigger this feature.
    • The Diamond symbol, represented by a diamond-encrusted tile, awards you with instant cash. You need at least three of this symbol to show up on your reels to win. The maximum number of Diamond symbols that can show up is 10, and it will win you $8000.
    • The Multiplier symbol, represented by a golden tile with a dark orb, increases your winnings depending on the multiplier on each symbol. If more than one multiplier shows up on your reels, the numbers will add up together. Also, multipliers double in value during the free spins round.
    • The Wormhole symbol, represented by a bonus portal, gives you 10 free spins if three of this symbol appears on your reels. During the free spins round, the chances of having the other three scatters appear on your reels go up.

    FAQs

Do you need more clarifications before you get started playing Timelines? Here are some questions you may have:

What is the volatility of Timelines?

Timelines has a medium volatility, meaning there is a moderate chance of you getting a winning combination after a few spins. A medium volatility is good for both new and experienced video slot players, so try your luck with Timelines when you have the chance.

Are free spins available on Timelines?

Yes, free spins are available on Timelines. Try to have at least three Wormhole symbols show up on your reels to get 10 free spins. If you trigger the free spins round, you will get a higher chance of having the other scatter symbols appear on your reels as well!

Can Timelines be played on mobile?

Yes, Timelines can be played on mobile devices. Just log in to your preferred online casino via your phone’s browser or mobile app and look for Timelines.

Excited to see what the future has in store for your online slot? Play Timelines on your favourite online casino and see how lucrative this new pastime can be!

  • Rings of Power: Realms Explained

    Rings of Power: Realms Explained

    Rivendell

Rivendell, also known as Imladris in Sindarin, a peaceful, sheltered Elven town and the house of Elrond located in Middle-earth near the edge of a narrow canyon of the river Bruinen, but well hidden among the moorlands and foothills of the Misty Mountains. In reference to Valinor, which was located in Aman west of the Great Sea, it is referred to as “The Last Homely House East of the Sea.”

Throughout the First and Second Ages, Rivendell was a hub of knowledge and prosperity. The story of the Second Age revolves around the city of Rivendell, and The Rings of Power’s portrayal of Elrond taking stewardship of the city during the horrors of the struggle against Sauron is probably one of the series’ most important plot points. Rivendell’s existence after the Last Alliance’s triumph also enables Elrond to increase its population in order to once again serve as “The Last Homely House East of the Sea,” where Frodo seeks refuge during The Fellowship of the Ring.

    Tirion

Tirion, known fully as Tirion upon Túna, was the city of the Ñoldor in Aman. The Quenya term “Tirion” means “Watch-tower.” Tirion was where Finwë ruled and where his sons Fëanor, Fingolfin, and Finarfin resided. The people of Tiron are known as the Ñoldor, also known as the Deep-elves; they were the second clan of Elves to join the Great March and travel to the West.

In the First and Second Age stories of Middle Earth, Tirion plays a crucial role as a doorway to the Two Trees of Valinor. Melkor and the Ungoliant siphon the life from the trees in the First Age, ushering in the first great wars of Middle Earth, while Ar-Pharazôn raids the shores of Aman in an attempt to besiege Tirion in the Second Age. Tirion will therefore presumably play a significant role in The Rings of Power’s most key plot developments, giving viewers their first glimpse of the Undying Lands that Frodo and company sail off to at the end of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

    Númenor

Númenor was a kingdom of Men that the Valar first raised out of the sea as a gift to the Fathers of Men at the dawn of the First Age, following the utter annihilation of Beleriand. The realm of the Númenóreans, the Dúnedain, located on an island in the Great Sea between Middle-earth and Aman. Initially named Elenna or the Isle of Elenna (“Starwards”) because the Dúnedain were led to it by the star of Eärendil and because the island was shaped like a five-pointed star. The Dúnedain built a temple for Ilúvatar atop the mountain Meneltarma in the island’s center. Armenelos was the largest city and capitol of Númenor.

The Númenorians who lived on the isles lived long lives—three times as long as Men did in Middle Earth—and forged a powerful coastal kingdom along the shores of the central realm, yet many of them still coveted the Elves’ immortality above all else. This envy was exploited by Sauron to urge the Númenorian king Ar-Pharazôn to attack the Valar, this led to Númenor sinking to the bottom of the ocean and being condemned as “the drowned kingdom.” Númenor is the birthplace of Isildur and his father, Elendil, who fled Númenor’s destruction and lived on Middle Earth with their loyal men.

    Khazad-dûm

Khazad-dûm, also referred to as Moria or the Dwarrowdelf, was a realm that existed below the Misty Mountains. The most renowned of all dwarven lands, it was known for being the ancient home of the Dwarves of Durin’s Folk. Founded in the far distant past by Durin “the Deathless,” long before the Sun and Moon were made in the Years of the Trees. Early in the Second Age, Khazad-dûm’s realm of Longbeards was enriched in culture, talents, and people by enormous numbers of refugees from Belegost and Nogrod, cities ruined at the end of the First Age along with most of Beleriand in the cataclysmic final battle against Morgoth.

Durin IV and Disa, two of the main protagonists in The Rings of Power, are members of the Khazad-dûm royal family, and Durin III, Durin IV’s grandfather, is the bearer of one of the seven Dwarven Rings of Power. Khazad-dûm also plays a significant role in Sauron’s conflicts with the Free Peoples of Middle Earth during the Second Age, with Durin III’s surprise attack on Sauron saving Rivendell’s Elven armies and enabling the Last Alliance to defeat the Dark Lord in battle. Long after Khazad-dûm was destroyed by armies of goblins and the balrog Durin’s Bane in the Third Age, it reappears in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring under the darker name Moria.

    Gondor

Gondor (meaning “Land of Stone”) was the most powerful kingdom of Men in Middle-earth. The brothers Isildur and Anárion, who were exiles from Númenor, founded Gondor. Gondor was the sister kingdom of Arnor. Due to the ships and military prowess that its forces possessed, Gondor was at the height of its power in its early years. However, ongoing invasions from Sauron’s allies, civil war, and a terrible plague led to a steady fall throughout the length of the Third Age, which ended with Sauron’s ultimate demise and the crowning of Aragorn II Elessar. After then, Gondor’s authority grew once more, and the former Arnorian kingdoms were merged with it under the name of the Reunited Kingdom.

The realm of Gondor is certain to feature due to the inclusion of Isildur and Elendil Númenor tales, even though it isn’t explicitly shown in The Rings of Power trailer. After Númenor is destroyed, Elendil and his son travel to Middle Earth, where they found the kingdoms of Gondor and Arnor in The Lord of the Rings with the help of their few surviving faithful followers (known as The Faithful). Gondor may appear in The Rings of Power’s later confirmed seasons because Isildur is specifically tasked with overseeing a growing Gondor, cultivating the White Tree, and fortifying the city’s fortifications.

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power starts on Prime Video on September 2nd, 2022.

  • Insights Into Prime Video’s New Original “Rings of Power”

Insights Into Prime Video’s New Original “Rings of Power”

Prime Video is releasing a new series based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic “The Lord of the Rings.” The epic trilogy takes place more than a thousand years before the events depicted in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, which took place in the Third Age of Middle-earth.

The show opens in an era of tranquillity and follows an ensemble cast as they confront the long-feared return of evil to Middle-earth. The kingdoms and personas from this new series will leave behind legacies that will survive far beyond their passing, from the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains to the magnificent woodlands of the elven kingdom of Lindon, to the exquisite island realm of Númenor, to the farthest reaches of the world.

The Second Age begins after the War of Wrath (the most catastrophic war in Middle-earth history), which brings the First Age to an end. In it, the Valar, a pantheon of lower gods who rule over Middle-earth and serve Iluvatar, the “real” God in Tolkien’s universe, led a massive army against Morgoth, the first Dark Lord and the most powerful of these lesser gods. The War of Wrath involved dragons, eagles, Balrogs, Elves, mankind, Valar, and dwarves. The fierceness of the battles had changed the landscape, Morgoth was defeated and imprisoned in the “Void,” where he could no longer cause harm to anybody. Parts of the world were submerged under the sea, the Valar and the majority of the Elves had isolated themselves in the West on a different continent, and it was a new beginning.

The Second Age lasts around 3,500 years and ends with the War of the Last Alliance, depicted at the start of The Fellowship of the Ring film, in which Isildur destroys Sauron by cutting the One Ring from his finger.

The initial trailer begins with a view of a stunning, opulent city by the water,  the island kingdom of Númenor. A young girl’s voice can be heard speaking, “Haven’t you ever wondered,” the young woman’s voice asks us, “what else is out there?” A reminder that the series will explore previously untold tales from Tolkien’s universe.

“Before the Ring” comes up, which tells us that the story will begin before the One Ring was forged. We will actually encounter Aragorn’s ancestor and One Ring thief, Isildur, during the course of the show’s five anticipated seasons, which will significantly condense the Second Age’s tens of thousands of years of history. He wouldn’t be born until many thousand years from now if we followed Tolkien’s timeline! This accelerated timeline makes it highly probable that the Rings, or at least some of them, will be forged before the end of season one.

Within just a few days till the launch, a new teaser was unveiled for Rings of Power focused on Galadriel’s quest and her conviction that evil is going to resurface. Galadriel enlists the aid of other warriors in her fight. She can be seen imploring with Elendil, Halbrand, Elrond, and others to join the battle in the trailer. She responds, “Without it, what am I to be,” as Elrond urges her to lay down her sword. We also see Gil-galad, Mriel, and Isildur rallying the people of Middle-earth to the cause of battling evil.

The epic series recounts Galadriel’s journey to being as the wise ruler of Lothlorien and will go into further detail about how she impacted people’s lives throughout Middle-earth, especially those of humans like Halbrand.

“Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power starts on Prime Video on September 2nd, 2022.
