  • We Can’t Wait To See Rita Dominic In The ‘Desecration’ Movie

    Our very own Rita Dominic appears to be killing it in a brand new movie, along with ace actor Joseph Benjamin.

    This time around she’s playing Linda Bruce, an intense character who is obsessed with a married man.

    Produced by Bode Odetoye and directed by Niyi Towolawi (Director of Turning Point) , the movie tells the story of Dr Olusola Daniel, a married man who gets deeply involved in an affair with Linda.

    Rita Dominic’s brilliant performance already shines through in this trailer; she could well be on her way to landing a second AMVCA award.

    ‘Desecration’ is set to premiere on November 11th, at the Lighthouse Hall, Camberwell Road, London.
  • This Photographer Captured The Most Beautiful Pictures Of Our Favourite Nollywood Celebrities

    Two years ago, talented Nigerian photographer and artist, Ike Ude, moved back  to the country and of course, he was captivated by the awesomeness that is Nollywood-the 2nd largest film industry in the world.

    In October of that same year (2014), he photographed and created stunning portraits of Nollywood actors, producers and directors, in a beautiful photo series aimed at celebrating the beauty of Nollywood

    This amazing work of art, ‘Nollywood Portraits: A Radical Beauty’, has gained recognition and will be showcased at the Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College Chicago from October 20th of October to the 23rd of December.

    It’s amazing how Nollywood is gradually receiving all the recognition and exposure it deserves.

  • David Oyelowo’s Speech On Nollywood at TIFF Is The Best Thing We’ve Seen this Week

    For the first time in the history of the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), 8 Nollywood movies were showcased in the festival’s City to City programme.

    This impressive feat not only proved that Nollywood is definitely on the way to greatness, also, international actors of African descent including Lupita N’yongo and David Oyelowo showed their support.

    Speaking to an audience at the City to City: Lagos opening, an excited David Oyelowo was too happy to be in the midst of people who could properly pronounce his name without adding extra ‘phone’.

    His speech was not only inspiring but the funniest we’ve seen in a while as he perfectly mimicked the typical Nigerian parent’s reaction to their child going into acting.

    We hope to see a Nollywood on the Academy Award playing field soon, but in the meantime, you can watch David Oyelowo’s speech below:

  • Nollywood Movie, ’30 Days In Atlanta’ Has Made It To Guinness World Book Of Records

    In 2014, Nigerian comedian, A.Y Makun, produced his 1st film, ’30 Days In Atlanta’ which went on to become to become the highest-grossing movie in the history of Nigerian cinema with a box-office total of N137 million.

    Proving that 2016 is a great year for Nollywood, ’30 Days In Atlanta’ is the first Nigerian movie to be featured in the Guinness World Book of Records.

    Sharing the news via Instagram, A.Y explained how his movie was recognised as one of the films with the highest domestic gross in Bollywood, Nollywood and Hollywood.

    It’s obvious that the only way for Nollywood is up. We hope they keep up their efforts to produce quality movies for Nigerians and the rest of the world.
