Don Jazzy | Zikoko!
  • 8 Times Don Jazzy Influenced Nigerian Contemporary Music

Nobody should get carried away by Don Jazzy’s chronically-online, playful social media influencer personality. That’s all recent development.

This isn’t an attempt at inducing nostalgia. But when Don Baba J returned to Nigeria from London two decades ago, it was the beginning of a journey to becoming one of Nigerian contemporary pop’s greatest contributors, and he changed the soundscape forever.

Don Jazzy seems to have taken a break from actively producing music, but not before making multiple impacts on Nigerian pop music. These eight songs Jazzy produced across music eras prove this.

    Tongolo – D’Banj

At a time Don Jazzy and his previous business associate and artist D’Banj were still testing Naija music waters, the latter’s debut album came out with Tongolo as its lead and biggest single. Not only did this song introduce D’Banj’s arrival to Nigerian listeners, it birthed his “Koko Master” persona.

    Ijoya – Weird MC

Two years after stepping into the motherland, Don Jazzy produced Weird MC’s Ijoya alongside JJC. This song was Weird MC’s reintroduction to the Nigerian audience in 2006. Till date, Ijoya remains the biggest single from a Nigerian female rapper.

    Why Me — D’Banj

Why Me transformed D’Banj from potential entertainer into a national hitmaker. Don Jazzy’s production did that.

    Jebele — Kween

Kween had lovers in chokehold with this 2007 jam. Its music video won the Soundcity Music Video Award for Best Female Video and Best Highlife Music Video at the Nigerian Music Video Awards in 2008.

    “Mushin 2 Mo’ Hits”

In 2009, Wande Coal released his debut “Mushin 2 Mo’ Hits”, creating a template for how a Nigerian pop album is made. This album has popular hits like Move Your Body, Bumper2Bumper, You Bad, Taboo, Private Trips, Ten Ten, etc. Wande Coal did his thing on this album, but we have Don Jazzy to praise for its stellar production work.

    Wind Am Well – Ikechukwu

This song is one of the singles that secured Ikechukwu’s spot in the mainstream. Guess who produced it? It’s Don Jazzy again.

    Oliver Twist – D’Banj

Before Don Jazzy and D’Banj parted ways in 2012, they made their last collaboration titled Oliver Twist count. This song climbed charts and did wonders for Afrobeats appeal, even pushing its potential into global space.

    Godwin – Korede Bello

It took Godwin three days post-release to become an anthem among Nigerians in 2015. Due to Korede’s resonating lyrics and Jazzy’s production, Godwin is a party jam to some listeners and a testimony song to others.

  • What’s On Our Radar: Afrofusion, the Greatest Producer and “Love Me Jeje”

It’s been an interesting week for Afrobeats. Fireboy takes off his Afrobeats ID card, Tems’ Love Me Jeje samples Seyi Sodimu’s 1997 song of the same title, and Afrobeats can’t agree on its most significant music producer.

This piece reviews these news with broad nuances and disparate perspectives.

    This is Afro-confusion

One day at a time, Nigerian artists reject the Afrobeats tag, dumping it for their coinages. Burna Boy, Wizkid, Fireboy DML and Davido have all ditched it for tags like Afrofusion, Afro-Life, etc.

On the surface, the artists are trying to break away from a general tag that doesn’t adequately represent their art. Critically, it’s an identity crisis to some listeners.

To me, though, this denouncement of Afrobeats is a new tool the artists use to capture the public’s anticipation and attention for upcoming projects. Burna Boy dismissed Afrobeats during the media promo run for his “I Told Them…” album. Wizkid took to his Instagram stories to clamp down on the genre while he teased the new album title, “Morayo”. Conveniently for Fireboy DML, in the middle of his latest single release, he proclaims he doesn’t make Afrobeats records. It’s just his Yoruba H-factor and Nigerian roots that classify him as one. His older albums don’t align with his new stance, but hopefully, the forthcoming body of work will offer something relatively new we haven’t heard before.

These new fusions are easy to whip up and claim, but everyone forgets that “Afrobeats” is a fusion. Its music blended in Afrobeat, Hip-Hop, R&B, Dancehall and other African traditional rhythms. You can’t make a fusion of a fusion.

Also, artists calling their sound one thing or the other isn’t new in Nigerian music. Sir Shina Peters distinguished his brand of Juju music as “Afro-juju”. Late Fuji maestro Ayinde Barrister once labelled his sound “Fuji Garbage”. Haruna Ishola made Apala music but he made “Soyoyo” — a style his son Musiliu Haruna Ishola inherited and panned into a titular album.

If tomorrow comes and another Nigerian music star drops Afrobeats for another Afro-buzzword, be assured the rollout machines are rolling again. Though the damage from this misrepresentation is a conversation for another day, these personal claims over music sound tags aren’t charming. If Afrobeats enthusiasts and listeners want a topic to have a village-square discussion about, it should be how the overstretched loop of Amapiano is turning into a curse and why the mainstream hasn’t delivered any music that knocks the shit out of the water this year.

    All power to Don Jazzy.

It’s also clear that we need to restart and conclude the conversation about the greatest Afrobeats producer.

No disrespect to the names that have come up in this conversation; only one person really qualifies. He is Don Jazzy. Hits, commercial success, cultural impact, longevity and catalogue have comfortably placed Don Jazzy higher. Before the emergence of “Afrobeats”, Don Jazzy had already made hits for JJC and his defunct 419 Squad in the U.K.

When he stepped into Nigeria to pursue music two decades ago, it marked the start of a new era in the Nigerian contemporary music landscape —the revolutionary 12-year run of Mo’Hits Records that gave us D’Banj’s first three albums, Wande Coal’s iconic “Mushin 2 MoHit” and successful debuts from D’Prince, Dr Sid, Tiwa Savage and Reekado Banks.

Aside from competing with some of the hottest music producers, Don Jazzy’s CV includes Oliver Twist, one of the most essential songs in Afrobeats’ exportation. He built Mavin Records and created new global stars like Rema and Arya Starr. Although Jazzy has become less active in the production scene, and his music executive and social media influencer brand might have overshadowed his Afrobeats’ presence, he’s still the greatest since 2000.

Tems, Seyi Sodimu and “Love Me Jeje”

Seyi Sodimu’s hit Love Me Jeje (1997) isn’t recognised as the start of Afrobeats. However, there can be an argument that it’s more original than Shakomo, which borrowed the instrumental of MC Lyte’s Keep On Keeping On. 27 years later, Love Me Jeje, a nice gift from a cool, distant Uncle Seyi staying abroad, is reimagined by 28-year-old Grammy-winning Tems on a song of the same name. This Seyi Sodimu’s classic has just given birth to a modern love record for Gen-Z romantics.

The reaction trailing the song since Tems first performed it on Coachella’s stage last week and its actual release is an all-pointer to the fact that Tems has another charts-climber on her hand. Seyi Sodimu’s version leans on Juju elements, while Tems’ has Highlife influences. I wonder how trippy it must be for millennials who have witnessed these two eras.

  • 14 Times Don Jazzy Proved He’s the Master of Hooks & Choruses

Don Jazzy has been active in music for over two decades. He started in church like many other artists, then picked tungba music before pivoting into pop sounds with African leanings — which helped shape afrobeats.

Since his early days with the 419 Squad, Don Jazzy has hundreds of music production and vocal credits to his name, highlighting his insane ability to deliver infectious hooks and choruses. But Don Baba J has shown he’s the master of hook and choruses these 14 times in particular.

    Wind Am Well

Don Jazzy was so mesmerised by booty on Ikechukwu’s street banger back in 2009 that he told the babe to “wind am well” more than 30 times. When he finally found words to say, they were, “Na she start from head to toe, even if popsy call, I no go o.” His charismatic delivery elevated Ikechukwu’s verses and made the song unforgettable.

    Now Is the Time

Ikechukwu, AKA Killz, linked up with Don Jazzy again on a track off his debut album, The Alliance Reconstructed. It was all red cap chief energy on that hook as he boasted, “Now, it’s time to know who gat the money.”

    Collabo

“I go sing for you, you go sing for me, collabo,” Don Jazzy sings about his desire to be with his love interest on this P-Square hit from 2014, dropping some Portuguese lines and referencing lines from Tiwa Savage’s Eminado.

    Adaobi

Also in 2014, his Mavin crew released Adaobi. On this one, Don Jazzy took the chorus and emphatically eulogised Adaobi, a pretty Igbo babe he was eyeing. And once again, he showed he understands the formula to making love songs hit.

    Looku Looku

Don Jazzy and his former Mavin artists — Reekado Banks, Dr. Sid, Korede Bello, Tiwa Savage, Di’Ja and D’Prince — addressed haters with memorable vibes.

    Jantamanta

    This 2015 song has a four-line chorus.

“Jatanmanta, kill and die, kabakaba ah

    Eh, jantamanta, kabakaba.”

These first two lines though, are so infectious, yet most people have no clue what language Don Jazzy was speaking. However, further research showed he read from a Professor Peller book.

    Gift

Iyanya was one of the hottest Afrobeats singers in 2015, the year Gift came out. Still, it had to be Don Jazzy on the chorus. Who else could’ve delivered that sexy baritone?

    Up to Something

The old Supreme Mavin Dynasty boss started this 2017 jam by telling us to check his melody and not sleep on it. Then made bold statements about his bank account — the type that puts investigators on your tail.

    My Dear

Another Jazzy chorus masterclass. On this DJ Big N song that also featured Kizz Daniel, the Don expressed his affinity for women. The jam will have you throwing your behind unashamedly while one rich man sprays you money.

And in case you didn’t know, it’s two days to the biggest party for hot babes in Nigeria. Get your ticket now.

    All Is in Order

This one will serenade you while Don Jazzy sings that money isn’t a problem and everything has been taken care of. This is what victory over life’s struggles sounded like in 2019. All Is In Order also heralded the coming of Rema and Crayon, who just joined the Mavin crew.

    African Waist

If Don Jazzy was a hype man, he’d still have a successful career. In this Tiwa Savage cut from 2015, Don Jazzy exclaimed about the African waist and begged to see it shake in five different dance styles.Jazzy walked so Toby Shang and co. could fly.

    Some More

Modenine’s 2014 album, Above Ground Level was packed with heavyweight features, including Don Jazzy. As a serial woman lover, Jazzy turned the chorus into an ad about his sexual prowess that’d keep women coming back for more. Modenine complemented his sultry bars.

    Safe

At the peak of COVID-19 in 2020, Don Jazzy and Falz united for social awareness, preaching that people should come together and fight the pandemic.

    Blessings

Don Baba J channelled his Cherubim and Seraphim roots and took us straight to church when he featured alongside Olamide on Phyno’s Blessings in 2019. It’s advised to wave your white handkerchiefs when dancing to this.

  • Which Nigerian Music Producer-Turned-Singer Surprised You the Most?

There’s a popular saying that goes, “The only constant thing in life is change,” and the music producers on this list embody this philosophy.

After making hits for some of our favourite singers behind the scenes, these producers have gone on to replicate the same (or almost the same) level of success for themselves as singers in their own rights.

But of all the producer-turned-singer transitions, which one shocked fans the most and which one made us go, “Oh, yeah, this makes sense”?

    Young Jonn

Between 2014 and 2016, almost every Olamide song started with the lines, “It’s Young Jonn, the wicked producer.” He showed his “wickedness” producing songs like Story For The Gods, Bobo, Falila Keitan and Blood Money. But nothing prepared me for his 2022 EP, Love Is Not Enough or just how much I’d be obsessed with Dada, his single with Davido.

While I couldn’t place a face to the name when he was producing, now I know what Young Jonn looks and sounds like when he’s singing. And let’s just say, I’m totally here for it.

    Pheelz

I can’t recap 2022 without talking about how we were all shouting, “If I broke na my business!” at the top of our voices. It didn’t matter whether we were at the club or on a long queue for spicy rice at Chicken Republic, Pheelz and BNXN’s Finesse has been everywhere this year.

But before becoming a household name and badass performer (this video lives rent-free in my head), Pheelz was always behind the scenes and in his producer bag creating major hits like Durosoke for Olamide, Billionaire for Teni, Scatter for Fireboy DML and Pick Up for Adekunle Gold. No one was doing it like Pheelz as a producer and it looks like he’s moved that energy to his singing as well. Love it!

    Kiddominant

What do Orezi’s Rihanna, Davido’s Fall, Mr Eazi and DJ Neptune’s Marry and Mayorkun’s Mama all have in common? Yes, you guessed right — it’s Kiddominant’s special touch. Even though he’d churned out major hits as a producer, I was still shocked to hear his voice singing the chorus on AKA’s Fela in Versace. Since then, Kiddominant has dropped an EP and changed the spelling of his name to KDDO.

Nigerian artists are taking this rebranding thing seriously.

    Maleek Berry

Cutting his teeth behind the scenes as a UK-based producer creating bangers for  Wizkid, Maleek Berry made a big shift becoming an artist with songs like Kontrol, Eko Miami and the unforgettable Juice with Ycee. You had to be there for his 2016 EP, Last Daze of Summer. Someone needs to bring Maleek back because the streets miss his vocals for real.

    Don Jazzy

Technically, we heard Don Jazzy’s voice on D’banj’s Tongolo when it dropped back in in 2005. Even though some of us thought it would be a one-time thing, as producers sometimes make vocal cameos on their songs, Don Jazzy has become one of the most sought-after Nigerian singers. And he does this while running a massive record label, producing hits for everyone from Burna Boy to Ruger, and killing it as a social media influencer.

Does he have two heads, or are the rest of us just lazy? These are the questions.

    Tekno

Many of us didn’t even know Tekno was a producer until his career blew up as a singer. From rhyming Lagbaja with Gwagwalada on Pana to calling out all the tribal female names he could find on Duro, we’ve all come to know Tekno as a big hitmaker. But while working as an upcoming musician, Tekno produced songs for Bracket, Victoria Kimani, Ice Prince. After he “blew”, he produced If for Davido in 2017.

    Davido

Guys, his first hit as a producer was his own song, so it just makes sense that Davido is the least surprising producer-to-artist transition story on this list. While Davido had produced for Dammy Krane, everything changed when he dropped his debut single, Back When, and we all heard him say, “On the beat, it’s Davido.”

Breaking out as a producer and an artist simultaneously is a major feat. But if there was anyone who could pull it off, it had to be OBO himself.

  • These Producers Helped Make Afrobeats Famous, Give Them Their Flowers

It’s easy to shout “Afrobeats to the world” and talk about all the incredible artists breaking records these days, but the truth is that Nigerian music is nothing without its producers. With new age producers like P.Prime, Niphkeys, London, and Rexxie getting the praise they deserve It’s time to give flowers to some producers who started experimenting years ago and remain relevant to this day.

    1. Young Jonn

Producing back to back hits for Olamide and Lil Kesh, Young Jonn quickly earned his title as “The wicked producer”, with the hits he made during his time with YBNL still being talked about today.. You’ve got to give it to the man responsible for Bobo

Hits: Mama with Kiss Daniels, Story for the Gods with Olamide, Don’t Call Me Back with Lil Kesh and Biggest Backside with Davido.

    2. Don Jazzy

Do we have to say anything here? The man is Don Jazzy. That’s enough.

Hits: Dorobucci, Oliver Twist with D’banj, Lift Off with Jay Z, Kanye West and Beyoncé, Bounce with Rema, Surulere with Dr Sid and Eminado with Tiwa Savage.

    3. Masterkraft

It’s safe to say that Masterkraft has worked with all the big names in Nigerian music, from Wizkid to Bella Shmurda. Starting out making hits for Flavour and Bracket back in the day, Masterkraft has evolved into one of the most versatile producers in Nigeria. He even makes his own music now.

Hits: Jasi with Banky W, Fine Lady with Lynxx and Wizkid, Ukwu with Timaya, Kwarikwa with Flavour and Hallelu with Bella Shmurda and Zlatan.

    4. Del B

Remember when Kcee had the world in his hands thanks to Limpopo in 2013? Del B is the producer we have to thank for that boppity bop. Famous for songs that incorporate highlife and makossa, Del B has continued to make hits year after year, Mad Over You, duh.

Hits: For Your Matter with Wizkid, Shake with Flavour, Reggae Blues by Harrysongs and Tilapia with Mr. Eazi.

RECOMMENDED: Ranked: Olamide’s Top Ten Features of All Time

    5. Shizzi

Shizzi is the incredible producer responsible for giving us baby Davido hits like Dami Duro and Skelewu. He also worked on Wizkid’s Love My Baby and, more recently, Beyoncé’s The Gift. It’s giving range, and we’re here for it.

Hits: Blow My Mind with Davido and Chris Brown, Show You Off with Wurld and Who You Epp with Olamide and Wande Coal.

    6. D’Tunes

You would have had to be living under a rock in 2012 if you didn’t hear or dance to Iyanya’s Kukure. After winning project fame years before, this was the song that finally put Iyanya on our radar. Fast Forward to 2013, and Sean Tizzle’s Sho Lee had become a bonafide hit. What do these songs have in common? D’tunes. The moment you heard, “It’s D’Tunes again o”, you just knew your waist was about to be destroyed. Good times for real.

Hits: Your Waist with Iyanya, Mama Eh with Sean Tizzle and For My Matter with Emma Nyra.

    7. Cobhams Asuquo

Can you believe the same guy who produced Catch Cold by Maintain also produced Jailer by Asa and Strong Thing by Banky W? That’s Cobhams Asuquo‘s power. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a heartbreak song to make you cry hot tears or a love song to make your enemies say, “God, when?” When it comes to emotions, Cobhams is your guy.

Hits: If You Ask Me with Omawunmi, Ego with Djinee, No Lele with Dekunle Fuji and Iyawo Mi with Timi Dakolo.

    8. Spax

Show Dem Camp has always been on another level when it comes to ballsy rap music. And while they teased us with Feel Alright in 2013, nothing prepared us for 2018’s Palmwine Music Vol.1, and we have Spax to thank for that. Known for blurring the lines between alté and pop, Spax has created magic with everyone from rap kings like Lynxx and M.I to new stars like Tems and Oxlade.

Hits: Up to You with Show Dem Camp and Funbi, Marry Me with Falz and Yemi Alade, DKT with Oxlade and Damages with Tems.

    9. Legendary Beatz

If these two decide to retire and invest in Akara or Crypto, we won’t be surprised. Do you know what it means to be the group behind hits like Ojuelegba and Essence? These two not only produced Wizkid’s biggest hits, they indirectly produced two of Nigeria’s biggest hits. That’s on periodt!

Hits: Caro with L.A.X and Wizkid, Ibadi with MayD, Take Care of Me with Skales and Crazy with Seyi Shay and Wizkid.

    10. Sarz

When Sarz says he’s not your mate, you better believe him. From the moment he dropped Beat of Life (Samba) with Wizkid in 2013, we knew this guy would be a big problem. Since then, he has worked alongside Niniola to make Afrohouse a thing with hits like Maradona, also producing songs for Drake and Beyoncé. When he’s not dropping thirst traps these days, he’s dropping mad ass EPs with artists like Obongjayar, Lojay and Wurld.

Hits: Come Closer with Wizkid and Drake, Bad Energy with Skepta and Wizkid, MAD with Wurld, If You Say with Obonjayar and Monalisa with Lojay.

    1. Add your Abeg username to your Twitter bio

If you still don’t have an Abeg account, it’s like you’re not serious. Do you expect Don Jazzy to come to your DM and ask for your account number? Please do the needful and if you’re feeling extra generous add our Abeg username (e.g. @zikokomag) to your other social media bios.

    2. Comment your Vbank account number under all his tweets

You want Don Jazzy to send you money and you don’t have a Vbank account? Must be some kind of joke. What if he doesn’t feel like sending money on Abeg that day? Who will you tell your story?

    3. Become Ayra Starr’s biggest fan

Don Jazzy is always hyping her so if you join him in the hyping, you’ll make this thing easier for yourself. Anywhere you hear “vibe killer“, just start dancing and tell someone to film you. Post the video on Twitter and tag everybody that needs to be tagged.

Even if you don’t find it funny go there and laugh. Flood those tweets with laughing emojis. You never know, one day Don Jazzy might be in a good mood and he’ll decide to help your life. Don’t go and mistakenly laugh at a sensitive tweet sha. We’ll just deny you.

    8. Fight him

If everything else fails, you can pick a fight with Don Jazzy on the TL. The disadvantage of this is that you probably won’t win any money but what’s that thing they say about when the going gets tough?

Disclaimer: Whatever you see while following these steps, collect it with your chest and don’t involve us (except that part about adding our Abeg tag). Love and light!

  • These are interesting times. On one end of the Internet, everyone’s going crazy about the Royal Wedding. On another end, Nigeria’s Rockstar blogger, Linda Ikeji, has carried beleh. On one end again, Linda’s fans are pumped, knowing how much she’d always gushed about children, or adding them. Another end again, many people are wondering how the Celibacy Prefect is having a baby. In an Instagram post which has now been deleted, Linda talked about how she has no regrets, and feels really blessed. We’re happy for her too, because issa baby! So we thought, wouldn’t it be nice to recommend baby names for the cute little one? We have come up with a few names we think would suit the baby boy perfectly.

    ThankGod

“Because is the child really from God if we don’t thank God for his goodness and blessing?” Only problem is, one of her cousins probably has this name.

    OMO

“I mean, we already know O.B.O Baddest! Only right that we have an Omo Mama Olowo. Amen?”

    Collins

“Lie. Lie that the first person you thought about wasn’t Don Jazzy when you heard of the baby. Just lie.”

    LIB

Because is it truly from Linda if it doesn’t have Linda Ikeji in it? Ehn? Linda Ikeji TV, Linda Ikeji Social, Linda Ikeji Blog? Linda Ikeji Political Party? Linda Ikeji Baby for President.”

    Bonario

“BONARIO LIVES ON. Is there a Linda Ikeji post that doesn’t have a comment from Bonario that goes “Bonario Lives On”? Should there be a moment in Linda’s life where she doesn’t think of the love she gets from her fans? She has to dedicate a baby name to the hardcore fans in the comments section. It’s only right. It’s in the constitution.”

    Ogomegbulam

It means My Friend don’t Kill Me. This one is for all the haters. In truly Nigerian fashion, this is Linda telling them to take their hate and shove it up their ess.

    Charly

I mean, he said he inspired the pregnancy, even though Linda said he didn’t. But, special mention. Next.

    Oyenele

“Onye Unele. Banana somebody Linda has come a long way hustling to make it in this jungle. Even if this just ends up being the baby’s nickname, we need to thank God for the Banana Glory”

    Linus

“Linda. Laura. Linus. Are you getting me?”

    Otutu-Ego

Otutuego. Plenty money. Period. Any questions? So, as a true Nigerian, you know it is your right to name somebody else’s baby. It’s in the Constitution. What name will you give Linda’s baby?
  • QUIZ: Which MAVIN Are You?

When Mo’hits disbanded, we thought we’d seen the end of, arguably, the greatest music group in Nigeria. But Don Jazzy, proved us wrong. He has assembled a group that is definitely the most prolific group we have now – The MAVINS

They release songs so dope, you wish you were a part of the group. Here’s a chance to ‘live’ your fantasy. If you were a MAVIN, which one would you be:

Share with your friends to know who they would be too!

The cleric is not just popular for his charitable deeds but also for his prophecies which, mysteriously, are only heard of AFTER the event. Many celebrities and African leaders count on him for spiritual guidance.

How would he have reacted if he had witnessed The Headies saga between Olamide and Don Jazzy?

When Olamide came to rant on stage.

Thank you Lord for an already lit 2016.

After Olamide threw his mic on the stage.

Indeed, where has your chill gone , brethren?

When Don Jazzy fired back at Olamide and asked him to come and collect the car.

    LMAO! I never experred it.

Watching Di’ja’s little dance after Don Jazzy’s epic clap back…

No seriously, what was actually doing her please?

    After reading Olamide’s twitter diss…

Sir, you’re a very bad boy sir.

When Olamide tweeted “leave trash for LAWMA”…

    Hay! Baddo Sneh!!!!

And called Don Jazzy out for ruining Dbanj’s career…

    HAAAAAY GOD! D’banj sorry oh!

When Twitter people came in droves for Di’ja…

From all the angles of Nigerian twitter… and from the airspace.

After the fighting duo reconciled and posted a cute picture on Instagram…

And because sequels are more interesting, Nicki Minaj went lower and called Miley Cyrus out at the VMAs in 2015.

    LMAO.

On the very first day of 2016, during the Headies awards, drama and all her children came well prepared for their biggest performance yet.

    Wait for it!

This time around, another passionate elder brother felt very pained his beloved little bro didn’t win the award he deserved.

Olamide felt Lil Kesh of his record label YBNL deserved to win the award of Next rated artist that was presented to Reekado Banks of the Mavins crew.

However, the daddy of the award winner caught the randomly flying shade and dealt a lower blow.

LOL!” Come and take the car”.

Olamide then took matters to twitter and rained words of rage on Don Jazzy.

During his angry rant, he launched the newest slang of 2016, “Leave trash for LAWMA”.

The people of twitter weren’t kind to Di’ja for her little dance after Don Jazzy’s shade.

    Some took sides as expected.

Some of them had really deep insights to the fight.

They are anticipating a diss mixtape from both sides.

For creative people, the fight only opened brilliant marketing ideas.

Celebricity.com reports that Karen Rainford , the mother of six who was beheaded in Mountain View, California was killed by husband.  Friends report that Mr Rainford has recently used DNA testing to discover that none of their 6 children were his.  Karen reportedly used to come to his place of employment and embarrass him for child support money, meanwhile possibly know that the kids weren’t his all along. We have asked Judge Don Jazzy to handle the case.  He has questions:

    1. Why did Karen keep having children? Hadn’t she heard of contraception?

    2. What made Mr Rainford get suspicious at number 6? Why not after the 3rd kid?

    3. You mean he did naming ceremony and child dedication for 6 children that weren’t his?

  • 7 Reasons Why You Should Listen To Wande Coal’s New Album ‘Wanted’

After 6 years, the Black Diamond is back with his sophomore album!

Six years ago, Wande Coal dropped his debut album ‘Mushin 2 Mohits’ which included the hits ‘Ololufe’, ‘Bumper2Bumper’, ‘You Bad’ (featuring D’banj) and more.
And while he’s stayed in the spotlight, releasing new music via his Black Diamond Entertainment label and featuring on other artists tracks, he’s kept his fans waiting on the follow up to ‘Mushin 2 Mohits’. But that all changed yesterday when the former Mo’ hits star dropped the highly anticipated album ‘Wanted’.
After one listen, we at Zikoko can’t get enough of this album and here are 7 reasons why you won’t be able to either:

    1. The first single ‘Ashimapeyin’ released in July proved to be a certified banger!

While the video had a lot of celebrity faces, it’s the addictive beat produced by Sarz that has us hooked! And the ‘Mushin to Mohits’ star shows us he can work his magic again..

    2. The second single ‘Same Shit’ featuring AKA is equally impressive.

The Da Beat Freakz-produced track and AKA’s flow are a killer combination.

    3. Nigerian Twitter can’t get enough of the album!

    4. The album includes production from Maleek Berry, Killa, DaBeatFreakz, Leriq, Major Bangz and more.

    5. Track 6 on the album, ‘Monster’ produced by Legendury Beatz has quickly become a fan favourite!

    6. The album includes hilarious skits and intros featuring Falz and Seyi Law making fun of the 6-year wait for ‘Wanted’.

On the skit, Falz discusses the rumour about Wande Coal serving Moin moin in an eatery in Mushin instead of releasing music.
While Seyi Law blames the power outages in Nigeria and Wande Coal’s blackness  for the delay in the release of the album.

    7. The 23-track album includes collaborations with Maleek Berry, Jimmie, 2face Idibia, Burna Boy, Wizkid, King Spesh and more.

Hit after hit after hit, Wande Coal’s album ‘Wanted’  proves it’s possible to create quality Nigerian music that the masses will love.
