  • Here’s All the Gist You Should Know Before Watching BBNaija Reunion

Can you believe it’s been almost a year since Big Brother: Shine Ya Eye ended? Please, where is time running to? The reunion show is back with sequin gowns, interesting lace wigs and pointlessly intense drama. But since it’s been a while (and the last housemates were dull), I’ve decided to jog your memory with some of the hot gist from last year, so you’re not lost when they start throwing hands or water.

    1. Angel and Cross’ friends with small benefits

These two kept stressing the audience out. Even though they were swallowing each other’s tongues up and down, they kept telling everyone they were just friends. Sorry dears, but that’s not how people do this friendship thing where I’m from. The best part of their “friendship” is how they constantly stood up for each other. Who can forget the time Angel comforted Cross after Nini called him an olodo? Sweet.

    2. Nollywood lover boys had nothing on Saga

When it comes to love, no Old Nollywood lover boy comes close to Saga. Ramsey Noah, Emeka Ike and Desmond Elliot probably looked at him last year and thought, “Guy, it’s enough now.” Remember when Big Brother kidnapped Nini and Saga looked like he was about to die? This man had just met this girl, but I’m sure he’d have taken a bullet for her if it came to it.

    3. If you have a relationship outside, forget it when you come into the house

Once again, these housemates reminded us that the moment you step into the house, any love you have outside is automatically placed on pause. Yes, Saskay and Jaypaul, we’re looking at both of you. Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten Miracle and Nina, so you’ll be fine.

RECOMMENDED: 5 BBNaija Ships That Sailed And Crashed This Season (6)

    4. Liquorose came to dance, and nothing else

Everyone comes into the Big Brother house with a plan of how they intend to win all the money for themselves, but my girl Liquorose came to dance, and I respect that. Yes, we all know she had her thing with Emmanuel, but we know her step game was the highlight of her time on the show. And before you come for her, look how far she went on the show. I stan a Maltina Dance-All queen.

    5. Pere and his frustrating alpha male character

No one displayed toxic energy like Pere, not even Sammie. This man walked around that house like he was everyone’s daddy, and once he honked at the gate, everyone needed to scatter. From constantly harassing Whitemoney to just being a dick to everyone but Maria, Pere was the villain we didn’t know we needed. When he needed to be, he was still a stand-up guy, especially when he consoled Saga when Mr. Loverboy thought rapture had taken Nini from the house.

    6. Maria was a focused queen with a sprinkle of bad vibes

Even though she was evicted earlier than I expected, Maria left an indelible impression on everyone. Maybe it’s the fact that Nigerians gravitate towards strange accents, either way, Maria was a fan fave. Her back and forth relationship with Pere was stressful but entertaining. It was also nice to see a female housemate who didn’t care about being liked. That is until she decided to slut-shame Angel like we’re in the 1950s. I love Maria, but she gave us girl boss, gate keep, Gal Gadot.

    7. Nothing has changed; Nigerians still like to vote out of pity

After multiple seasons of Big Brother and several winners, one thing remains constant: as long as you can make Nigerians pity you, they will vote for you like crazy. We saw it happen with Efe, Laycon, and Whitemoney. It’s the strategy that has been tried and tested. Even Bubu got sympathy votes in 2015, so why is anyone surprised?

  • 6 Relationship Lessons We’ve Learnt From BBNaija Shine Ya Eye

This year we saw a lot of BBNaija relationships, situationships, and interesting friendships in the house. Of course, when you put that many people in an enclosed space for a long time they are bound to form connections with each other. The housemates formed these connections with each other; some were entertaining, some were healthy and others were just stressful for both the viewers and the housemates involved.

    Here’s a list of 6 lessons we learned from this year’s BBNaija relationships;

    1. Choose the people that choose you: Angel and Cross

Angel and Cross understood the ride or die assignment and we loved to see it. We saw Cross genuinely making efforts to understand and be there for Angel no matter how complex her personality was. They had their friendship on lockdown and it just proves that when the vibe matches everything else just sails smoothly.

    2. Your network is your networth; Emmanuel and Liquorose

Despite not having a large fan base himself Emmanuel managed to survive all his eviction nominations and made it to the finals. The moral lesson is clear; if you want to go far in life, attach yourself to someone who is already ahead. Let them help your destiny.

    3. Come correct on what you want: Jackie B and Micheal

    zikoko - BBNaija relationships

This ship was the most tedious ship this year, they kept going back and forth and stressing everyone else involved because they couldn’t have an adult conversation on defining what they have. Between Jackie B’s “it’s not that deep/you’re disrespecting me” and Micheal’s “stap playin wid mi” it was just a lot of stress for viewers and any other female housemate who dared come close to Micheal.

    4. Make sure you are your spec’s spec: Whitemoney and Jackie B

    zikoko - BBNaija relationships

Whitemoney put Queen through a lot of stress because he was trying to prove his feelings for Jackie B. And all along Jackie B had already “Father zoned” him because she said she gets “daddy vibes” from him. Moral lesson; research about your spec’s spec before you start picking out baby names.

    5. People can be angry with you and still show up for you: Saga and Pere

    zikoko - BBNaija relationships

Pere was visibly hurt when Biggie played the clip of Saga badmouthing him to Nini. But when Saga was distraught over Nini’s disappearance, it was Pere who stood by him, kept consoling him, and even sat with him outside the rain. If people genuinely care for you, they will come through for you when you need them to. It doesn’t even matter how angry they are with you.

    6. Go after what you want: Saskay and Jaypaul

Jaypaul saw what he liked and he went after it. He did not let the fact that what he liked had a whole relationship outside the house or that another housemate was passionately in the race too. He simply went after what he wanted and as a reward won himself a passionate kiss before he got evicted (insert a round of applause here).

Which other lesson did you learn from this year’s BBNaija relationships? Tell us in the comments.

  • 5 BBNaija Shine Ya Eye Housemates That Got Evicted Too Early

As the show grinds to an end, we couldn’t help but reminisce on some of the housemates we met earlier in the show. Perhaps if they were still in the house we may have gotten a little more spice.

Here’s a list of 5 evicted housemates that definitely left the show too early.

    1. Arin

For the first time on the show, we got to see a feminist who proudly wore the tag and went on a crusade to re-orientate as many other housemates as possible on Feminism. Arin didn’t stay too long in the house but before she left she built beautiful connections with other housemates like Angel, Nini, and Cross. She also established herself as an unshakeable girl’s girl and the resident therapist. Her no-nonsense approach to patriarchy and misogyny was definitely a vibe the show needed.

    2. Beatrice

Beatrice may have been slow in unveiling her personality but the sneak peek she gave us before she got evicted shows that we would have been in for some multi-dimensional drama. Remember the kiss she had with Pere and how worked up it got Maria? Let’s also not forget the fight she had with Liquorose. Beatrice had spice to give, the viewers were just not patient enough.

    3. JMK

    zikoko- evicted housemates

If JMK was still in the house 2 plot twists are for sure; she would have given Queen and Jackie B a proper run for Whitemoney’s attention. Whitemoney would have probably leaped into a ship with her because if we remember correctly (and we do) he was quite persuasive in the friends with benefit discussion he had with her. But you people got her evicted with your pauper votes and now Mazi has missed out on the possible love of his life. We would have seen the coolest sismance between her and Angel.

    4. Maria

    zikoko - evicted housemates

Maria may have gotten on our collective nerves but there’s no denying that she brought a fire to the show that was visibly absent after she left. Her love/hate thing with Pere was an entire storyline on its own. She got Pere so deep in his feelings that after she left, the general made it a point to talk about her at least 9 times every day. And we got less drama, fewer fights, and more kumbaya sessions. But we don’t watch BBNaija for love and light, do we?

    5. Honourable mention; Yerins

Imagine Yerins and Pere in a fight. All that comes up are scenes where Yerins uses his polymath brain to hypnotize Pere’s military brain and Whitemoney comes to settle the issue and gets hypnotized too. Mad stuff! But now we’ll never know because the resident polymath got evicted too soon.

Which other of the evicted housemates do you think would have brought more spice to the show? Tell us in the comments.

  • 9 BBNaija Housemates With The Best Party Vibes

When this year’s BBNaija housemates came into the house, a number of them promised to bring vibes, and we were all excited. But after watching them party every Saturday night, it has become clear which one of them brought vibes and which one of them just came to look. Without further ado, here are 9 BBNaija housemates with the best party vibes:

    1. Angel.

Angel’s vibes are so unmatched. Since she stepped into the Big Brother house, she has been a whole mood. And when it’s time for Saturday night party? Angel’s vibe is overflowing. We stan and restan.

    2. Cross.

Cross needs to get one major crown: King of Vibes. Just look at him having the fun of his life and making everyone happy. Just look at. Could your fave ever?!

    3. Liquorose.

Let us all kneel down and thank God for Liquorose. Every Saturday party is a hit with her. Vibes, back to back. Who does it like her? NOBODY!

    4. WhiteMoney.

Yes, he cooks in the kitchen. But listen, WhiteMoney cooks even more vibes and serves it to us on the dance floor. He deserves a cold bottle of Guinness, please.

    5 & 6. Nini and Saga.

This two have become one unit, and like that, they still bring us vibes. Hate them or love them, you cannot deny the love nwantiti that they deliver. Barman, two bottle of Guinness for the lovebirds, please.

    7. Emmanuel.

To be fair, Emmanuel alone isn’t always giving what he is meant to give. But since Liquorose entered his life or since he entered Liquorose’s life, he has started supplying some cool vibes, and now we look forward to seeing him at the Saturday night party. We hail.

    8. Queen.

Queen isn’t called Queen for nothing sake. This babe is a Queen of the dance floor. Never have we seen someone who is so excited to serve us dance moves and pure fun, while holding a bottle of Guinness and making us crave it. Thank you, Queen!

    9. Pere.

Just look at General Pere and tell us if he doesn’t deserve a bottle of Guinness too! DJ, play “Dorime”, let them bring out the Guinness.

    Special mention: (Un)official couples.

Picture Angel and Cross somewhere in this photo, bringing us entertainment. These people may or may not be in any ship, but when it’s time to serve couple’s content, they are always present. We salute them, and we salute the Guinness drinks in the background. It’s not easy to watch people being lovey-dovey when you just want to pose for a picture as a bottle of drink.

  • 7 BBNaija Housemates That Would Make The Guinness Neon Saturday Night Party Interesting

This year’s BBNaija brought in a number of interesting housemates. But after watching them party, we can boldly say that these 7 housemates are the actual life of the party.

    1. Liquorose.

Say what you want, but you cannot deny the pure fun Liquorose brings to every Saturday Night Party. She’s always so excited that her excitement rubs off on the other housemates and the viewers too. We can’t help but stan.

    2. Angel.

Angel might be reserved, even in her dances, but it is that reservation that makes her a fan favourite. And we love to see it.

    3. Cross.

If there is an award for “Vibes Master of the Season”, Cross deserves it. The moment he steps on the dancefloor, everything changes. And this is just what we want. Vibes on vibes, a freaking dynamite!

    4. WhiteMoney

The same way WhiteMoney can cook anything is the same way he can dance anything. He might come to the dance floor looking gentle and sipping his Guinness. But when he gets in the groove, even Liquorose knows she has an active dance competitor.

    5. Queen

When the music comes on, Queen is something else entirely. She doesn’t care what anyone thinks, she simply lets loose and enjoys herself. And this is what we need. Someone who can listen to the music and let the beat dictate their rhythm.

    6 & 7. Saga & Nini

Yes, Saga and Nini do love nwatintin more than they actually dance, but it’s part of the things that make every Saturday Night Party interesting. We like the couple vibes they are serving, and even if it’s not what we exactly want, we will take it like that.

    Honourable Mention: Saskay

BBNaija 2021 Photos: Housemates Rocked Lovely Native Prints for Last Party Night | CELEBRITY PROFILE

Saskay is a queen in her own right. That beautiful black skin? That face? All of this combined with the way she moves her body to the beat. Chei.

  • 5 BBNaija Ships That Sailed And Crashed This Season (6)

This 2021 BBNaija season, we’ve seen a lot of ships sail and sink in the 8 weeks the show has run for. Some of them seemed like wrong matches from the get-go and we were just waiting for the crash. But others actually held promise so it was sad to see them fail.

Here’s a list of 5 BBNaija ships that sailed and crashed this year.

    1. Angel and Sammie

This ship gave a lot of viewers anxiety because they were a terrible match from the start. It was like “Layrica” reincarnated. Angel said time and time again that she liked Sammie as a person but they didn’t connect mentally enough for a relationship. Sammie on the other side wanted her to tone down her personality and be less “flirty” with other male housemates. What eventually broke this camel’s back was the fact that Sammie kept trash talking Angel to other housemates. As predicted, everything came crashing down in a heated shouting match between the two.

    2. Maria and Pere

This seemed like a recipe for a volcanic eruption from the very start. Funnily enough, of all the housemates they both seemed like the only ones capable of handling each other. And who better to match an overly cocky Pere if not an equally headstrong Maria? However because “cocky and, “headstrong” is not a sustainable match, this romance could not survive the few weeks Maria spent in the house. Rumour has it that the first thing Maria did after she left the house was to block Pere on all platforms. We can’t say we are surprised.

    3. Boma and Queen

Queen and Boma seemed like a good match at first, she’s hot and he’s tall. But with time Boma started showing the other housemates and viewers his true colours and those colours were not really pretty. Between him constantly chanting his “Okro nation” slogan and his entanglement with Tega, what he had with Queen quickly went to dust.

    4. Crosskay – (Cross and Saskay)

    zikoko - BBNaija ships
    T

People liked the idea of a Cross and Saskay match because the narrative of a bad boy being “tamed” by the good girl sounds cute and grand on paper. But it doesn’t always work well in reality and in this case, it did not. Confronted with the options of Cross a bad guy, or Jaypaul, Saskay made her choice and that choice was not Cross.

    5. Honourable mention: Whitemoney and JMK

    zikoko - BBNaija ships

Our honourable mention is Whitemoney and JMK. For a moment there Whitemoney and JMK were discussing the possibility of a “Friends with Benefits” type of arrangement. But because housemates propose and viewers dispose, we didn’t get to see what became of that conversation. JMK got evicted that week.

  • 8 Types Of Housemates You’ll See At Every BBNaija Saturday Night Party

BBNaija Saturday Night Party is our favourite thing to watch right now. Every Saturday night, the housemates dress up in their finest and come to the dance floor to display hilarious, interesting, and always, mind-blowing dance steps. If you follow the show like we do, then you’ll relate to this list completely.

Here are 8 types of housemates you are definitely going to see at every BBNaija Saturday Night Party

    1. The dancer.

You probably thought of Liquorose when you saw the heading. And you are right, but this dancer isn’t always just Liquorose. It is that person who gives us leg work and hilarious body movements that keep us talking for days after the party.

    2. The groove queen or king.

This one came to simply enjoy the music and groove on a steady. The dancer can dance the house down, they are not entirely concerned. They are just here for the music and the vibes.

    3. The hypeman.

“Who be that guy wey dey stand for corner dey chill with a bottle of Guinness?” Just leave this post for WhiteMoney. Sure, he dances, but half the time, he’s chilling and hyping his people.

    4. The poser.

One dance, fifteen poses. We know their type, and to be honest, we are not angry. They are serving us something.

    5. Chop life geng

The person who falls in this category came to simply chop life. When the music comes on, they will dance and vibe. And when the drinks pop us, they will drink and vibe. No stress, no sweat. Just chop life and chill.

    6. The couple.

These ones will do love nwatintin all over the dance floor, and that’s all they are there to do. Even when they dance, they do it with themselves. God when?

    7. The couple (who aren’t a couple) who dance.

Queen👑's tweet - "Cross and Saskay are both up for eviction ..,,, I like the way they vibed together at the last Johnnie Walker party…. Do you think they'll survive this Sunday ? " -

These ones are not a couple, but they have very good dancing chemistry. Once the music comes on, the dance begins for them. They don’t care who the partner is, they just dance. We love them plenty.

    8. The solo dancer

This person likes to dance on their own. It’s not as if they don’t enjoy dancing with others; they do. But whether they find a person to dig it with or not, the party still continues for them. Always a whole mood.

  • 7 Reasons Why Every Woman Needs A Saga In Her Life

As a BBNaija Season 6 housemate Saga is annoying, but as a man romantically involved in a woman’s life, BBNaija Saga is the spec of all specs.

Don’t worry, if you don’t agree now, you will agree by the time you get to point 3 on this list.

    1. He will gladly sell his father’s land to buy you hair.

As long as he gets to see a smile on your face, he will risk being removed from his father’s will. Your slay is his priority and maintaining your beauty is his life’s mission.

    2. You can cheat on him and blame it on the devil.

Add a sprinkle of tears and you’ll be off the hook. You know he hates to see you vulnerable and crying. If you tell him he indirectly pushed you to do it he might even be the one apologizing.

    3. If his parents don’t like you, he will come and tell you himself and beg you not to leave him.

And if any of his friends dare say a bad thing about you he will cut them off with a quickness. You don’t have to worry about coming second in his life because this man will demote everyone else for you.

    4. He will gladly give you 50% of his salary.

    zikoko - BBNaija Saga

And extra if you need more. He will also make you next of kin on all his bank accounts and investments. You are his woman and his woman must be financially pampered.

    5. You don’t even need to buy juju, he will focus on you alone.

    zikoko - BBNaija Saga

So you can use your Kayamata budget for enjoyment.

    6. He will be your ride or die

    zikoko - BBNaija Saga

No matter the address you are riding to, he will happily sit at the steering wheel and chauffeur you there.

    7. He will never serve you breakfast.

Even if all the restaurants are doing promo, he will never serve you breakfast. His love for you is unconditional and very stubborn.

I hope with these 7 points, we have convinced you that a BBNaija Saga is the man you need.

  • 5 Things That Spoiled Maria’s BBNaija Game

The Big Brother Naija game is brutal. Viewers know this, housemates know this too. When we all met Maria BBNaija she seemed to be a force to be reckoned with but somehow she couldn’t make it to the top 5 list. For a lot of people that math didn’t add up. She seemed like the perfect character for a top contender position. It didn’t make sense for her to leave the game before less popular and strong housemates.

What went wrong? You’re about to find out.

    1. Putting Whitemoney up for eviction

The first wrong move Maria made was nominating Whitemoney with her exclusive nomination power. This was dicey because Whitemoney had just told her he didn’t tell the other housemates she was a wildcard because he didn’t want her to leave the house. Her nominating him seemed too much like a “repaying evil with a good transaction”. As expected, fans took that personally. That singular act gave Whitemoney’s fan base a huge boost and spiked up his Instagram following to surpass hers.

    2. Her alliance with Pere

The love/hate thing she had going with Pere didn’t help her game either. Ganging up with him to destabilize Whitemoney’s alleged strategy came off as a witch hunt and viewers were not a fan of that. Especially considering the fact that Whitemoney had only sent good vibes her way.

    3. Her one-sided beef with Angel

    Maria BBNaija - Zikoko

Maria passionately carried on a one-sided beef with Angel for reasons that are still unclear to viewers. From reporting Angel to Big Brother during her diary sessions to hosting a full-on character assassination podcast against Angel with Peace and Nini during their stay in the executive lounge. This made her come off as a slut-shaming and condescending character. Both of which are attributes viewers are not keen on seeing.

    4. Her beef with Queen

At first, this didn’t come off as a big deal. Things took an interesting turn when Queen unknowingly formed an allegiance with Whitemoney. This connection spurred Whitemoney’s fans to vote for Queen when both Queen and Maria were up and we know how that plot twist ended.

    5. Her reaction to her nomination

    Maria BBNaija - Zikoko

To top it all off when Maria realized she was up for eviction she threw one too many tantrums. For someone who herself had enjoyed exclusive nomination powers, it made no sense for her to take her nomination that personally. Especially to the point where she began to spite her alleged bestie Liquorose. Viewers were not a fan of that behaviour either.

To sum it all up, Maria’s game fumbled because she formed an allegiance with the wrong people and picked too many unnecessary fights with other housemates who themselves are top contenders. Between not being liked by the housemates inside the house and being considered annoying by voters outside the house, she didn’t stand a chance.

  • 11 Of Our Favourite Tweets About This Week’s Events On BBNaija

A lot has happened in this season of BBNaija. We all thought the show was going to be boring in comparison to past seasons, but the housemates have amped up the drama and keep bringing entertainment to our screens. Here are some of our favourite tweets chronicling this week’s events on BBNaija.

    1. Big Brother clearing Maria and defending Angel.

Please inject this in my veins!. The ”boys will always be boys” statement Maria made in an attempt to slut-shame Angel was quickly dismissed when Biggie came to Angel’s defence. We live for more moments like this on the show.

    2. Saskay vs Sleeping Beauty.

In a battle between Saskay and Sleeping Beauty, we are very sure Saskay will win. Aurora has nothing on Saskay. Homegirl dey sleep die.

    3. Micheal defending Angel.

If you pay close attention to the show, you’d have noticed the intense slut-shaming Angel has received from both male and female housemates. Anyway, Angel Micheal came to her defence this week too.

    https://twitter.com/_coco254/status/1428077937518075910?s=20

    4. White Money enjoying himself and entertaining the viewers as usual.

Pere, you’ve heard the man. You have only 24hrs to respond.

    5. Pere’s poor attempt at intimidating White Money.

The blowout on Monday was a poor attempt at intimidating White Money. Pere needs to explain what he has against everyone’s favourite net-singlet-loving Igbo man.

    6. Cross and Emmanuel trying to figure out Pere’s behaviour.

Pere’s behaviour was totally silly and uncalled for, so Cross calling him demonic was good content for the viewers. It was refreshing seeing men stand up against the silly behaviour of other men.

    7. The Atlantic ocean is not big enough for all the ships in this house.

So many ships with no directions. We wonder which one will be the first to go the way of the Titanic.

    8. LOOOOL. Not Big Brother broke-shaming JMK.

JMK has not brought in as much content as she promised us, but this was a moment worth documenting. We love Big Brother for his witty comebacks this season.

    9. Saga doing something else other than suffocating Nini with love.

It’s nice seeing Saga having a good time with other housemates. Nini sef needs to rest.

    10. Not Paleficient please (Internal scream).

Pere and Maria are not exactly good vibes, but this is the funniest one so far.

    11. Jackie and Maria. (Ofcourse, Maria is gossiping)

Jackie has not really shown us a lot of content. Her body is mad sha and she is a serious gossip.
